Traditional puukko knives from Scandinavia oftentimes had/ have reindeer bolsters.  If you are talking a stick tang, it's accomplished in much the same way the rest of the handle is made.  Drill and then file to correct size.  Full tang just make it like any other bolster.  I seal antler with ca glue.

Here is the first knife I ever "Made". I re-handled a gut-hook blade that I was using. It originally had a rubber handle but I added a Rosewood handle and a little antler guard.

the hunter blades in the pic are the knives i would like to put an antler bolster on. Is it basically cut the antler to fit, then sand then smooth?

You could split the antler to make a two piece bolster. CA glue is super glue. This is a Herder blade with antler and maple.

Beautiful work, very nice fellas, thank you very much. I just have one question though...the pin that goes through the antler bolster, what keeps it from splitting? Would you just sand the excess off when you do the final shaping?

thank you

if you use a new drill bit and go slow the antler shouldnt split. when drilling slow you are cutting not forcing your way thru. i like working with antler, well besides the smell that is but go cut a pice of gemsbok horn and smell it then the antler will be nothing
