My son-in-law wanted a knife with a bottle opener  So he designed it and I gave him a forged blank. Luckily he and his father have a small R&D business were they do some pretty high tech prototypes like Boston Scientific catheters, parts for the Hubble Space Telescope, etc...not your run of the mill forge & anvil :biglaugh:
Here it is quenched and set up for either a para cord or conventional handle. I'll see what the bear hunters think when they come in for a night cap! Doc

Sweet!!!!! I like it....A LOT!!!!

That is neat, but should beer, catheters, and knives be in the same sentence? :scared:

ArticArcher, The order in which they are used is the important factor ;)
As a side note the opener gives a great grip hold for your thumb. I know I'll be forging up a few of these for his friends and my son will definitely want one. Zach doesn't know about it yet as he is in a base camp at 17,000 feet on Mt McKinley. His team is responsible for rescues from 17,000 to the summit of 20,000 feet. The team has had to summit Denali a couple of times with rescues mainly frost bite victims! I'm sure he'll want a Beer when that is over :scared: Doc

Doc,
I hear you on that (the order). I'm moving back up there at the end of this month. Beautiful country to say the least, but it bites back if you're not careful.

That would go well with the pizza cutter the the blade show!!
