After making three of these for the swap, I decided to make one for myself. The scales are jarrah and osage. I can't wait to flesh out a hide with this one!

Sweet design. Great work.

OK, give it up! How do you do the handles?!

Okay Jeremy, I wanted to build another anyway. First I make a handle blank out of 3/4" material. For this one I'll use black cherry. Then I make some (osage) laminations 3/4" x 1/16.

Next I attach my arc cutter to my bandsaw.

Then I draw the knife handle on the blank and determine where I want the arc to cut. Note the green pattern, this is the one I used before to measure my additional arcs.

Next I clamp the blank in the jig and cut the arc.

After soaking the osage for about ten minutes, I wet and apply gorilla (polyeurathane) glue to both pieces of my blank.

Then clamp and wait for four hours.

That's basicly it. I clean up the glue and do it again (twice), and cut out the handle shape. I drill the pin holes, then split the scales in the band saw leaving the rough cuts out and apply to the knive. Lot's of fun, but very time consuming. :bigsmyl:

P.S. I determined the arc size based on what the center of the handle arc was.

Wow! That looks time consuming but the scales more than make up for it!

Here's the rest of the pics.
