Title: first knife

I'm thinking about making a knife for my first arm guard I made. I'm thinking something small 4-5 inches overall length. I want to make the blade from circular saw blades and handle from a small shed I found. I have two questions. First when putting in the brass pins in I've read that you epoxy them but do you hammer them over like a rivet (mushing the ends over)? Next what epoxy/ glue should I use for the antler to blade to handle?
Any help would be great.

HI Bill 2ton epoxy will work for the handle and pins. when ya get the pins in take a nail and put the point on the pin and tap it  on each end firm.... NOT a crushing blow LOL<><

Stickshooter is right. Rough up the pins, the epoxy will hold everything fine.  Only peen the very ends of the pins with light taps, to close any gaps.  Any more, the wood will split, dang near every time.
Antler and bone is more forgiving.

Thanks for the hints guys. Soon as I get my cutting disk back from my brother I'll give er a try.
