I've had some questions as to if I was going to run this again this year, so this post should clear that right up!
Last year worked out very well, so I figure we'll do it the same way again this year. It's pretty simple. If you want to participate all you need to do is make a knife (or three) by the deadline and Email me your name, address and the number of knives you want to swap. Once I have all the information I’ll randomly draw names from a hat and email everyone who to send their knives to.
Doing it this way avoids the problem we’ve had with the arrow trades the last few years of people saying they’d participate, but then not being able to due to whatever circumstances that came up. This way if you make 3 knives, you’ll get three knives and if you only have time for one, that’s OK too!
The deadline for this year will be May 30th. That'll give everyone a good couple of months to get everything they may need together and find the time - I know I need it!
And to answer the questions that I know will come: YES, stone blades are definitely welcome in the swap. NO, you don't need to forge the blade yourself - Helle blades and others are welcome as long as you assemble the knife. YES, 'Cheatr' knives are welcome - I got a real nice one from Kenny last year.
Build alongs are always nice to see and now that we have a little corner of TradGang to ourselves we don't have to worry about cluttering up the PowWow with non-hunting related posts :D
edit my email address is
-
im in only thing is I am worried not as many will see this post heck for a while I didnt even know we had a knife section .
-
So Dorris start PMing folks you know would be interested and get them in here. Some folks just need a little help realizing that Pow Wow isn't the only good forum on here. ;)
-
I'm in I guess  . dorris there is enough time to let everyone we think might want it to know where to look. PM them or email . I am sure word will get out. Jeremy Thanks for running this agian.<><
-
Just let people know who you think will be interested and I think we'll do alright.
-
I'm in again Jeremy and thanks for running this
-
Hi Doug! Glad to have you in on this! Oh, my Momma was asking if I'd 'talked' to you recently... :D
-
Dang. Wish I could make a knife, this is a great idea.
-
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! I'm a rank beginner (only assembled two so far). I'll have to think on this - don't know if I can bring myself to part with (new skill) "babies" - course I do love gettin' other folks' knives - hmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
I'm so confused -
-
Aw just go for it Bernie. If it comes from you, that's all that counts!
Jeremy, I'm in...Doc
-
LOL, bless your heart, Doc. Got a couple of Wing Bone Turkey Calls (I owe out, that I gotta get on - you'd know about that ;) ) maybe I'll work a knife in at the same time, while I'm at it. I was just looking at those Helle blades on Dryad's site, only day before yesterday anyway.
-
I'm in , thanks Jeremy
-
A couple of numbers from last year: 22 people participated with a total of 39 knives swapped!! I think we can beat that this year! :D
-
I'm in again Jeremy. Thanks for doing this again.
I would like to put something on the table. I know Jeremy is a stand up guy and way above doing anything like a fix. So I propose that if he draws a name of one of the top knife makers on his first go round, he keeps that name, rather than redrawing. :readit:
-
put me in. loyd
-
Funny! 4runr is referring to one of the two additional rules from last year. The first was no one would receive more than one knife from the same person (I only had to redraw for one person). The second was when I drew Doug's knife for myself I put it back in and redrew (I got Kenny's knife :D )
-
YES my man Loyd is in!<>< :bigsmyl: :bigsmyl:
-
Hey Jeremy if you like, I'll draw for you and that way no one can question the results period and you get what you get.
-
Ah yes, I've been waiting and looking forward to this again. I'm definitely in.
-
Jeremy I don't think ya gotta worry about anyone doubting you honesty. If anyone does maybe they should not get in. Everyone knows you are honest and trust worthy. If you pic Mr.campbell or Tippit then that's that. Hows that sound to everyone wanting in on the knife swap?<><
-
I ended up with Doug's knife last year because of the redraw , I asked that he send it to Jeremy . The knife later shows up at my house and Doug told me Jeremy would not hear of it going to him . I felt as though I did not deserve it and that Jeremy should stick with the first name drawn this year :0) Did I mention that knife is awesome  Jeremy is one stand up guy :0) thanks again Jeremy ,Drew
-
That's what I am talking about. NO ONE Should question Jeremy's honesty. Thanks Drew for letting everyone see what kind of man Jeremy is.<><
-
My kinda guy! (Man that took a "steel backbone" - putting Doug's name back in the draw - :D )

-
Sad thing is bernie he felt he had to so no one would question his integrity. I say not this time he pulls Dougs name or Tippits or Robtattoo or any other great knife maker he gets it! <><
-
Alright, quit it guys! Yer makin' me blush! :)
The only redraws this year will be if someone is getting more than one knife from the same person. Sound good?
You can question my integrity all you want if'n I get one of Mystikbow's knives :notworthy: You're doing more of those this year, right John?
So who else is in? :campfire:
-
LOL - knew he was my kinda guy! Still haven't got a stone blade knife, even though I've tried some knapping myself. My biggest problem these days is I do too much of the other napping - :D
So many fun things to do, so little time - (between naps :p )
-
I am in on this again too!!!
-
C'mon..now yer makin ME blush. Jeremy, I wont question your integrity if you draw my name for a stone blade knife. Hell, yer pullin the names. I
would expect it. oops, did I say that out loud?
LOL LOL
:biglaugh: :biglaugh:
Ok, in all seriousness. I don't think anybody will be questioning Jeremy's integrity. We'er all big boys here and know each other fairly well.
Oh and Jeremy the answer to your question is yes. I'll be entering at least one stone blade knife this time around too.
-
Im in for sure and kudo's to you Jeremy for heading this up again this year!
-
don't know if my knives are up to par, but count me in too.
-
Mechslasher,
As I'm sure Jeremy would say: Anyones knives are up to par. This is all about having fun and seeing what everyone is doing from newbie to pro. That's the whole point of Trad Gang...Doc
-
Like Doc said every one's knives are welcome. FUN is the main objective.<><
-
I'm in! Gotta Helle back up if my first attempts at making blades doesn't work out!
-
I'll throw one in! Dan
-
Count me in! I cant wait...thanks Jeremy
-
Last year the timing wasn't great for me and I regretted not participating. I'm in this year. Chad
-
I am in.... Look forward to this, missed last years trade. Brock
-
Im in,thanks for doing this.
-
I'm in too, folks. I have some beautiful desert ironwood and a buddy with some skills I can call on for help if I get stuck...TIPPIT!!!!!!!!
-
Ray, I'll keep my beeper on for any emergencies ;)
-
Looks like this swap is getting bigger. <><
-
I'm in as well and I am looking forward to it.
-
Well, last year I watched from afar, and wished I could get in but didn't know how to "make" knives. This year (thanks to others) I have succesfully assembled a couple. So, I decided:
I'm in (if I can get one done in time, of course)
Last night, I PayPalled a Helle blade blank from Dryad Bows (Helle Knives section - so easy to do)and will probably put an antler handle on it (as I did the other two knives I did). Nothing fancy but I hope someone will like it. It'll be fun (if I don't have a trauma from nervousness - :D )
-
Bernie, if it turns out anything like you bows have I'm sure anybody will be tickled to snatch it up. Cool having all the "new" makers and the more experienced guys participating.

-
Bernie, I want it...just be sure and sign it ;) Dang I shudda traded that knife to Killy when she offered you as the trade bait :scared:
-
If even a fraction of the "I'm in" guys participate, this year is gonna be BIG! :D
-
That means a lot coming from you, Doug. You too, Tippit (I think - LOL - not sure about that trade part with Killie). How would I sign it? I guess on the handle, huh? DUH! :knothead:
-
I feel if someone takes the time to make a knife, bow, turkey call ;) ...whatever and they are proud of it! Then they should put their mark or signature on it. That way all who see it will know it is special...one of a kind.
Some of our most prized artifacts from the past are very simple and primitive. Wouldn't you love to know the maker of an old Indian artifact...Doc
-
Yep, when yer right, yer right! ......... and I learned that too, early on in my art and craft work and started preaching it to all my "crafty" relatives/friends - "Sign yer werks!" All of my "art" (on my web site), all my shell and/or wood crafts from years back, all my WB Turkey Calls, and bows are signed with B.S.Dunn, B.S.D., or ber643 - depending on when I did them. My knives will be too, now that you remind me of my own fervent preaching, Doc. Thank you, my friend. I'll get right to 'er, by practicing on the two I have here - :archer:
Y'all pay 'tention to this, now - it's im-pot-tant! For everyone working with they own handbones - and headbones - and heartbones too , fer that matter!!!
-
Well, why not?? I'm in too!
-
Count me in also.
I'll shoot for making three.
Tim
-
Yeah Man, this is gonna be a good un this year for sure. I can't wait to start seeing some of the blades that will be traded this year. Don't forget guys...Pics pics pics
-
There's a question, Jeremy - who should take the pic(s), the builder before he sends it, or the receiver after they get it? And when should it/they be posted (ideally)?
-
Bernie, whatever you prefer. Cleared that right up, didn't I? :D
Last year we had some of each and a few build-alongs as well. Personally, I'd like to see the pics as early as possible! :) It gets people excited about the swap and gives 'em ideas they may not have had otherwise.
It won't be a secret who you get a knife from. It'll be a surprise when the package arrives, but at the end of it all I want to know who's knife is getting added to my collection :D
Speaking of which, there was a package in my mailbox this morning from **** with something sharp in it... :bigsmyl:
-
I'm in.......
-
Question here! I have a friend who has taken on the task of teaching me to build a knife. If I finish before the deadline can I join in? Is there a spot on here that explains terminology?
Thanks in advance.
-
Well where are the pics of the new knife Jeremy??? LOL
-
owlbait, anyone who finishes a knife by the deadline (May 30) is more than welcome to play along :)
LB III, look in the "Thanks Doug" thread :D
-
Oh I saw that awesome knife. I thought the four letter astericks word meant you just got a knife that you bought off the four letter auction site.
-
Put me down for two this year please Jeremy! And please don't pick me to send to Doug again (or Lin, Karl or Jerry!), talk about nerve-wracking! :D
-
Nah, I didn't want to give away the surprise of who the knife came from ;)
-
I'm good for two also. Thanks, L
-
Can anyone play??? or do you gotta be like a real knife maker??? Cause I ai'nt no real knife maker, but I traded some bow work for some blades made by a knife maker out my way.I have managed to make 3-4 knives over the years but nothing fancy. He is supposed to drop the blades off in the next week or so.If they are good enough and I can put a good enough handle on to match the quility of the blades, can I play too??? Please keep me posted, bowdoc
-
Bowdoc...absolutely sign up!
-
Done deal Doc,I'am in too....bowdoc
-
With the work that bowdoc does on restoring/repairing bows (well documented in word and pics) I can only imagine the work he'll do on a knife. A welcome entrant indeed IMO, Don. (I've given your contact info to soooooo many folks over the last few years, I feel like I know you well - LOL)
I got the Helle blade I ordered from Dryad today (Boy, that was fast - Thanks, Mike.) and it's a beaut (I gotta get one for myself too -soon - or maybe a couple :D ). I hope I can do it justice.
-
Bernie, I have to agree. I don't personally know
Don but I've been hearing nothing but good things about his refinishing work for years.
I just received my Helle blade as well. Gotta love those guys at Dryad bows for there promptness eh. Have you checked out the blade yet? Holy crap are they scarey sharp!!
Be careful.
-
Hey Bowdoc, You should consider making your knife handle from some old broken Bear bow...kinda like your signature piece! That would be pretty neat. Oops I mean someone else's broken bow...you just repair others mistakes  Doc
-
You got that right, on both counts, Mystikbow. Mike and his family (at Dryad) are good folks that tend to business and git-r-dun - and the Helle knives from Norway are about legend I'd guess - espesially at the price.
-
Wow you guy's are makeing me blush. This is gonna be so much fun, yahoooo bowdoc
-
LOL - I love your enthusiasm, bowdoc!
Question for folks with experience: After getting my fine blade blank from Dryad/Helle, I can easily see that (even if I stick to making antler handles) there are gonna be times when I will want/need to add spacers/washers etc. for fitting and or looks/interest. What are good sources for starting to collect assorted small pieces of usable material in metal, bone, horn, synthetics, etc? I tried to scratch my headbone and recall from my "artsy/crafty" days. I always was real good at collecting materials for use in fly tieing, seashell work, knapping, etc and still have a houseful of this stuff (well at least a "glory room" full). Unfortunately, none of it seems to be usable in this new line of endeavor and my "membries" aren't working (at this time :D ) to recall seeing (or not seeing)stuff like that in the craft stores, etc.
-
This sounds great! I am in the middle of my first knife so good luck to who ever gets it :scared: I'm in for sure!
-
ttt - I found a couple big knife making suppliers (Texas and Jantz) but for right now I'm looking for possible, quick, local sources that folks learn from experience. I found three brass washers and a piece of pretty horn that's too small for right now but those don't help much - LOL.
-
Bernie, You can always just glue on a interesting piece of wood to make antler or bone longer. Or use it as a spacer...Doc

WOoooooooooooooooooow..... bowdoc
-
Bernie, I have a few bleached out sheds that Frank sent me a few years back you're welcome to. I'll even dig out the box of 'trophies' (someone else's) and pull a few if you think you'll use 'em :)
-
Thanks, Doc, so much. That's the kind of thing I'm looking for. That's a worthwhile tip for all of us to tuck in our Ditty Bag. Beautiful knives to. I especially like the top one - my kind of design! Kind of similar to what I am working on now.
(I have your WB call (and Jeremy's also) about half done now - BTW)
-
Bernie I got a pretty good sized pile of broken bows I scronged up over the last 100 years or so since I was a kid.I'am going to run one through the bandsaw real soon it's Brazilian Rosewood. How's about I send you a piece er two of that in the next week or so,bowdoc
-
Jeremy, We were posting at the same time, I guess, and I just saw yours. I have a few antlers (not my "trophies" LOL) that I have bought along and along at yard sales, and the flea market, with the idea in mind of using them one day - in some way - and of course now I am. I would never turn down more antler though as I really like working with it, as I was just indicating in my post above. Two (or three) "great" minds, channeling??? :D

I am IN again this year. Loved the exchange last year.
Mike
-
Have made a few neck knives ,Helle blades, Big fun.I will man up ,do my best ,yeah I want to play! D.
-
I am already in for one but I want to up it to 2.
Brock
-
trying to figure out how to post some of my hand forged knife pics, i can build some fine knives , just don't know much about computers.
-
osageo, top of the page over on pow wow, there's a thread about avatars and posting pics. If that don't help, send me a pm.
-
I just ordered some blades from Jants. I'll go out on a limb and commit to two and possibly three for the trade.
That long lead time really helps.

Have a question? In 2002 I lost my Dad, two brothers, three Grandfathers. All of us Knife collectors. Now my oldest brother and my self have dabbeled into making blades. To the point over the year I ended up with all of the knives from all of the collections. Would these knives be up for swap or not? Thanks ,,,,Later...Buzz
-
Ive come acrsoss some extra supplies. Please put me in fer 2.
-
I forgot to mention when I signed up that I was in for 2 knives also....
-
Hey me too,for two. D.
-
Hay me too for two why not? :)
-
Put me in for one. I'm a newbie at this game. Loyd introduced me to the craft of knive making by showing his fare to my wife (Mrs. Stickman). Needless to say we went home with one of his custom friction folders. Well, that bug bit me two and I finally built my first two knives. (http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg5/brettlandon/Myfirstknives.jpg)
This just got me warmed up. I made two for Christmas gifts (sorry no pics), and then I made two more... (http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg5/brettlandon/neckknifefrictionfolder.jpg)
I just got the scales (I think that's the right lingo) applied to my swap knife and am going to back to the shop to finish it next.
In this knife swap, are we making sheaths for the knifes also? If so, I may have to stop at one knife 'cause I jus' ain't no good at theese sheaths yet :banghead: 'Course I'll make one all the same. Now that I've figured out this photo bucket, I'll post a picture of the knife when I get it complete. Gotta Go!!! :jumper:
-Brett
-
Ok boys, here's my trader. It doesn't have an edge on it yet, but it's way past my bedtime! :knothead: (http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg5/brettlandon/tradgangtrader.jpg)I hope this is up to snuff, I'm still making them out of old saw blades. Those scales are jarrah in case you were interested. Someone chime in on the sheath thing. Thanks. :jumper:
-Brett
-
Hi Brett,
Addictive, ain't it :D
A sheath would be helpful, but don't feel obligated to make one. I started this swap last year in the hopes of getting people involved in something hunting related in the off-season. A lot of people took the time to learn how to make a decent knife... leatherworking is an entirely different craft to learn :)
REMINDER When you get your knives finished please email me your address and tell me how many knives you're putting in the swap. It's much easier for me to keep track of that way, rather than having to go through all the pages. Just click on the little 'email Jeremy' icon above any of my posts and send one through TG.
-
OK, folks, I just e-mailed Jeremy and let him know I have one completed for the Swap. I'll post pics (more than you want to see - probably :D ) after supper.
-
Man I need to get at it. You guys are already ahead of the game!
-
LOL - I'm messing with the "partial" one you sent me now, Lewis. I think it's starting to look pretty good - I like it anyway. Thanks again, my friend.
Now on to the pics of my Swap Offering. I call it "Gecko, With A Steel Tongue". No, I haven't "named" my previous two knives but this one struck me that way right from the git-go, so I went with it (as you will see). I used one of the "New" little Helle Blade blanks called Ola-Kniven #56", from Dryad/Helle. Again I say they are fast to fill an order, and very helpful folks. I have a number of pics because I like to show how I envision the use of the specific antler handles I choose for a given knife (I know, I'm weird - LOL), so the pics will be in two postings:
-
Now for the "In Hand" Demo pics :knothead:
With the, what I'd look at as a little Caper, held this way (normally), the eye guard of the antler rests comfortably between the 2nd and 3rd finger (a little hard to see), and a clear place at the base of the bur makes a conveniant thumb rest/pressure point. I left the tine it's full length, as it curled neatly around the heel of my hand. Whoever winds up with it may choose to cut it closer to their hand:
Held this way the Eye Guard/Brow Tine curves sweetly along the heel of my thumb towards the center of my palm. I hope it is likeable, comfortable, and usable to whoever gets it.
(I haven't signed it yet, Doc, but I will, I promise - :) )
It may look small (I have a large hand for a little guy) but I bet it will be a "tough" little knife that will last many years.
-
hey thats nice uncle bernie!!!! :clapper:
-
Bless your heart, Jeff.
-
Oh, I forgot - The Ola-kniven Blade #56 is 2 1/4" long :D
-
Please count me in for one. Thanks
-
I'm in for one now that I have one :bigsmyl:
-
I'm in for one.
-
Hey Jeff, make one like you just posted. You best make one LIKE it as wrestling that knife from your wife's hands could be dangerous. :scared:
-Brett
-
You can count me in for one, This sounds like alot of fun. It is great to see everyones ideas.
-
I'm in! Don't make blades but I can change and do the handle work! This is a great idea.
-
It really sounds like you don't care how amatuerish an effort might be. Careful what you wish for, but go ahead and put me in. As long as all it takes is assembling a pre made blade is within the rules I'll give it a try.
-
I'm gonna sneak in a picture of the blade I'm going to use for my knife.
Gonna get some help to finish. Haven't decided whether to make the handle out of cape buffalo horn or desert ironwood.

wow, can I trade with Ray?

NO..........Ray trades with MEEEEE!!!!!

I know its kinda cheatin' to use a ready made blade but I didnt want someone regretting getting my first knife in this thing.
My mentor is going to show me how to make a blade, but I will use that for my own knife.
I;m going to do some serious file work on the whole top of the blade including the part between the scales, but I havent decided whether to use cape buffalo horn or desert ironwood for the scales.
Hmmmm. now that I think about it, how DO we know who we are trading with? Names in a hat?
-
I don't think we get to know - until it's too late - :D (just kidding, of course, except maybe in the case of my entry :p ).
I think Jeremy said something about how he would do it, back at the start of the thread, not positive.
-
Yep, Ray - he said:
"It's pretty simple. If you want to participate all you need to do is make a knife (or three) by the deadline and Email me your name, address and the number of knives you want to swap. Once I have all the information I’ll randomly draw names from a hat and email everyone who to send their knives to."
by Jeremy
-
Ray,
My blades are coming from the same place you got yours.I've gotten quite a few from him to make for friends.Always a good product, never had a problem. He also carries some very nice sets of scales.I got a set of Redwood Burl on a little skinner I'll have to post that turned out pretty nice.
-
Thanks for bringing that up Bernie! Last year worked out pretty well, so I figured we'd run it the same way again this year. It'll be a surprise who you get a knife from, but not a secret after the fact.
Nice looking blades guys! Is the whole tang damascus or is the damascus welded onto a mild steel tang? Hard to tell in the pics.
-
at first i thought it was welded, but if you look closely the damascus is there, in the back part as well..I just think it looks different because he keeps the tang softer? Varmint will know.
-
Beautiful blades, for sure.
-
Varmint and Ray, where are you getting these blades?
-
I was wondering too - but figgured they probably couldn't say here as we have a number of knife/blade sponsors. (e-mails, PMs, PLEASE?)
-
that's right..I have avoided for that reason. If you email me I will give you the info. they are not cheap.
-
they are not cheap.
Good damascus NEVER is!
-

Got that right!!
Great blanks tho.....hold a heck of an edge, look too hard too long and you'll cut yourself.
My biggest regret in giving them away is that most guys I've given them to said they probably won't use them!!I gave them to them TO USE THEM!!It's a shame for a knife to sit and gather dust............
-
Ray, Looks like the whole tange is damascus but the tang is ground and not etched. That should make a very pretty & useable knife. Lots of coaches here if neeeded. Have fun Ray...Doc
-
you are exactly right, Doc....front part is etched to reveal the pattern.
Its beautiful...the pattern is called STORM. I'm gonna "Herb Derr" it on the top with a file..to make it pretty.
Have a cape buffalo horn coming from S.Africa soon, and we will do the scales up with that I think, leaving some rough in it for texture and not all polished...so its a useable knife, not a looker.
-
WOW great looking damascus. Ray, Cape Buffalo horn scales would look SAWEEET on that blade.
Can I trade with you?? LOL
-
Ray, If you need that horn cut into slabs just let me know. I should be able to ship Most of It back :D Doc
-
he he...spoken like a true knife nut!!!!
-
Sure pretty to drool over though - LOL.
(Sounds like Doc's got a plan - ;) )
-
Jeremy, thanks for doing this again. Count me in for 1 knife.
-
Wow Jeremy, that's got to be up to around 50 knives for the swap and we have over three months to go. :clapper: Can you give us the official tally? And maybe keep us posted? Thanks again.
-Brett
-
Heck...I have alot of blades in the works. I might do a 3 knife swap with sheaths! LOL! Love to get some other people's work!
-
If I had got started earlier (in life) I think I would have really enjoyed making blades - but i think I will pretty much stick to assembling knives at this stage. I really like that book (a wealth of information) but wish it had more about putting various handles on, than I saw in my first "skim" through this AM.
-

That is what I do but I will also change a blade design into something I like better. I just have to remember to go slow and keep it cool to avoid messing up the temper.
-
The "Official tally" is at only a few knives right now!
As you finish your knives for the swap please email me with your address and how many knives you have finished.
Doing it this way means I don't need to go through all these pages counting the "I'm in's" and that if some people can't get a knife finished in time (lots of things come up in life) it's not a problem. I think for every 3 people who wanted to participate in last year's swap at least one was unable to or lost interest.

-
Jeremy if you are doing it that way, I am going to try to get one or two done, but I don't know my schedule enough to know if I will have time so I don't want to commit now. If I do get the time, when is the deadline to say, "I HAVE A KNIFE FOR THE SWAP!"???
-
I have my knife done. If someone can post pictures for me let me know and I can email them.
My email is Thanks, Glen
-
Hey Brett, Those are some nice lookin Nessmucks.
JOHN
-
Brian (and everyone else), the deadline for finishing up knives and emailing me is May 30th, so there's plenty of time to make some knives! :)
Nice looking knives Brett! :D
-
Thanks Guys. I've really enjoyed making them. I think this is more addictive than making bows. Well, almost. :bigsmyl:
-Brett
-
This is a tease of knives to come. LOL This will be one of the blades I will be using for the swap this year.
ENJOY

Here's one from Glen
(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v212/fliksr/Random/2Glen08.jpg)
Right now there are 11 confrimed finished knives and 19 total that I know are in the works. And that's not even half of what I know will be included!!!
That stone blade is WILD!
-
Jeremy, It's called triflow obsidian. When held up to the light the black becomes translucent.
It's gonna make a nice little neck knife.
-
Looking good so far guys!!!
Mystikbow that's a beautiful blade,perfect size too!
Hopefully I'll have some pics in the next week or so of mine......knives anyway, the sheaths will take awhile.
-
Glen, I realy like that knife. Nice touch with the little stone point medalion in the handle. Man
I can't wait for the swap this year. Already there is some great lookin knives on here.
Jeremy, I probably won't e-mail you with the no# of knive I'll have done for at least a few weeks yet.
JOHN
-
John, no worries. There's still a long time until the deadline. I just looked back at last year's emails... most were the week before, so we're already ahead of the game :D
That blade looks like it's on fire! I love it!
-
Thanks John, I can't wait either. I just finished the sheath for it also.
-
I'm getting better at drooling all the time - great looking knives y'all. I was just showing my (offer), "Gecko With A Steel Tongue", to a couple of friends today and it made me feel pretty good - 'cause I wasn't too sure I was going to get away from them with it still in my possesion - LOL.
-
Okay, sheaths are done. Now I just have to sit and wait. I've really enjoyed this project and believe I'll be doing more and more knives. :bigsmyl:
Now let's see your stuff!
-Brett
-
Impressive work all the way around! Hmmm....wonder if I can steal a blade from my buddy Brian between now and May...
-
Me and ishiwannabe are definitely in! Brian
-
Man there is going to be some great stuff again this year  :clapper:
-
I just got the word from Brian....Im so in!
-
With all the BEAUTIFUL knives showing up on here almost daily I'm getting a little embarrassed with the stone blade patch knives I'm making again this year. I'll have to make a metal blade one to trade too. :notworthy:
-
I for one would love to get a stone knife.I finished my knife for the swap yesterday,I will try to get pics tomarow.
-
here is one of two knives I am for. I still need to put some pins in but I wanted to post it.
I didn't make the blade, it was obtained on a swap from one of our fellow Tradgangers......
The handle is Walnut with Purple heart. I also added some Hickory you can see from the top or bottom of the handle.

-
Dang Brock, thats NICE! Looks real sharp, in more ways than one.
Mike
-
Thanks Mike. The knife is sharp. I invested in a sharpening system about 5 years ago and couldn't be happier. It is called the Edge Pro III http://www.edgeproinc.com/productsapex.html
It really does the job. Not cheap but I love it. Works great on 2 blade broadheads also. I use on arrow grabber while using it on broadheads.....
-
here's my swap knife. the blade is carbon from an old saw blade. the handles are bocote, and I made the shieth last nite IMG]http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii314/lsrbear/10 (http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii314/lsrbear/100_IMG]http://i267.photobucket.com/albums/ii314/lsrbear/100_00486.jpg[/IMG]0_0484.jpg[/IMG]

-
Whoh - I have been so busy building a BBQ Pit(see the recipe forum) that I almost missed the knife swap thread. Count me in for at least one or two knives. I am hoping to find time to make a stone blade or two for this swap as well as some steel. This was the greatest swap ever last year!!
Bob Urban

Rockered chopping blade 1 1/2 x 6 1/2. Overall 11 1/2
Here is one that I plan to bring to the party. It has a highly figured cherry burl handle so the pic does no justice. This is one of the first knives I ever made and I use it almost daily in the kitchen. It is an awesome vegetable chopper and will be hard to part with but I want to contribute with dignity. I like makeing kitchen knives as much or more than hunters because they get used so much more often. This is a carbon blade with a patina and has 6 coat hanger pins holding the handle on. More to come
Bob Urban
-
"Stuff" for this trade just keeps getting neater and neater-er!!!
-
OK,so the guy finaly got my blade done.4 weeks late I might add. He's almost slower then me...He made this blade on a magnitic table grinder.I believe he said something like 4150 carbon. But I can't remember what I did 10 minutes ago.So I will double check with him... (http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii175/bowdocsarchery/knife001.jpg)..bowdoc
-
I'd like to get in too if I still can. I've been sitting on a few I'd like to share. eddie
-
bowdoc, Looks like he made it out of silver dollars :D
-
here are a couple mullet wanted me to post for him.
-
Thanks Chris, The top one is an old carbon kitchen blade I fitted into the horn and then Blued.I will make a sheath for it. And the stone knife in the jawbone is Mahogany Obsidean.
-
I just found this thread today after hearing about it for a while. I am in the process of making my first ever knife which already has a home. My dads Bday is next month and since he donated (very reluctantly i might add) the saw blades and wood I figured he should get my first. After that I will definitely make one for the swap. Skippy
-
One cheater blade made from an Old Hickory butcher(center), One Bruseletto(bottom right) and one Helle(bottom left). Center has zebrawood, bottom left has Imbuya Phoebe and bottom right has Mule deer antler with Imbuya cap. All sheaths are hand made and stamped with "TG08" on the back to commemorate the swap.

Just sent an email. I have 2 completed for the swap.
Nick
-
Jeremy,
I will have mine ready in a couple weeks. I am definitely there.
-
Jeremy. I tried toP.M. you a couple weeks ago I gues it didn't work :banghead: any way my knife is on page 11. I'll try to send you the info again.
-
Quite a list (and quite some talents) if everyone sends their confirming e-mails in to Jeremy (as he requested :) )
-
Better make some wall space at home. Looks like I'm getting a great wall hanger (or two or three)from one of these guys. :bigsmyl:

P.S. Is it May yet? Is it May yet?
-
Is it May yet? Is it May yet?
Man I hope not! I'm still trying to get a few knives to people I traded with and with shop time being extremely rare I need all the time I can get!
el oso, I don't remember a PM, but with this swap going my PM box fills up fast and needs to be cleared regularly... that's why I requested an email sent through TG. I saw the knife you posted, that's why you made the 'unconfirmed' list :)
Thanks Bernie :)

Jeremy, I'm with you brother. I have the materials to make the knives and sheaths but finding the time is something else all together.
I'll get there though. THANK GOD IT's not may yet. :scared:
John

Now I know what our problem is. My dumb a$$ don't know the diferance between a PM and a trad gang Email. :banghead: could someone help?
-
Gotta get going on mine. I'll go out to the shop and write myself a reminder right now. The knives so far look great. Chad
-
el oso, go above any of my posts, there are 6 little icons. When you put your mouse over one of them it says "Email Jeremy" click it and your set. A PM never showed up either, but as I said, I've had to clear out my PM box often!

Thanks guys, just looking at some of the others on here one has a tendency to feel a little inadequate.
-
Wow where did the time go...I been so busy working on bows.I have not even had time to look at my project since I posted the pics two weeks ago.But I will keep at it,best I can...Hey guy's I did however want to post some pics of a knife my friends father Mr.Blake made. And I'am in no way tring to hijack this thread.I just wanted to share with you what I believe may be one of the most detailed and beautiful knives I've ever seen. And thought it may share some ideas as well with other guy's.( Mr.Blake also ground my blade for the knife swap).Well he did it several years ago actully Mr.Blake passed away last year and I barrowed his personal knife from his son to share with you guy's.I would be happy to email you pics of any section of this beauty you may want to see close up.Little quick history,Mr.Blake was a tool and die maker for 45+ years and probley one of the best ever..The first pic is the massive beast in it's sheath.I guess I could start with that. It's lined with two peaces of moose atler machined to fit the blade from a bull Mr.Blake shot in the 1960's and trimmed with brass copper and dental silver. The leaf's are made of dental silver and the acorns are copper. The upper and lower guard are machine fit brass..The outer sweade is from Mr.Blakes old coat (no joke). The handle appears to me to be a large mule deer shed. With copper acorn cap screw and four dental silver leafs inlayed, but note how MB ground the eye guard off. Then fit the dental silver leaf and two small acrorn in the flat. Will post a little more if you guy's don't mind??? Thank you, bowdoc (http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii175/bowdocsarchery/ab001.jpg)
-
C'mon Doc ya gotta start a thread on this knife with ALL kinds of pics! I want to see every inch of the knife!please!!!!!<><
-
OK ok I did it.....Mr.Blakes best ever...is the title....He truely was a master in his craft...Please check out the thread...Thank you, bowdoc
-
Put me in for two, here is my first (necker) and second knife that I have ever made from start to finish. Made from an old skilsaw blade with a cedar handle. The design was copied from a great knife maker here. This was a fun adventure and I have learned a lot about what I would do different next time. I don't know how well they will hold an edge but they sharpened up nice.

Jeremy,
Did you receive my e mail? I'm in for 1 knife. Completed and ready to go.

If I haven't responded to guys who sent an email I'm sorry. The baby is now mobile (very) so getting time on the computer at home (or shop time) has been nearly impossible the last few weeks. I'll try to get an updated list posted tonight or tomorrow.
The swap is looking better and better all the time! Now I need to get moving!! :D
-
So you are telling me kids get....um, more active? So far mine is just rolling all over. LOL.
Im working on mine by the way....should be interesting to say the least.
-
Are necker style knives fair game for the swap? Just curious as that seams to be the first ones I will get done for sure. I also ordered some leather from tandy so I should have sheaths for them too. Skippy

-
OK this has been fun and inspiring. I've enjoyed reading all the posts here and looking at the cool knives. Sure is some talent in this group. Since the rules said we can assemble a knife even without making the blade and that stone knives are welcome then I'm getting in too. Its been about 7 years since I've made a knife. I like noviculite (that's the rockologist's term for some kind of white flint from Arkansas) cause I can paint on it. I tried knapping and I do a good job of making little rocks out of big ones but without any real usuable form, so I buy the blades. My craft is as a painter/artist. So I paint something on the knife blade. Then do something with the handle that fits in with the overall look. Haven't made any sheaths for these, just a base and some sort of stand. Usually I do big game critters so this is my first duck on stone. So I'm done with blade and its kinda OK for being a little rusty. I hope folks like it. The blade is 3 1/2 inches X 2 inches. Now I have to find the right piece of antler or tree roots for the handle and figure our some cool beading pattern to inlay. This is my first image post. Here's hoping I got the images right sized and all in phototbucket. Two pics of each side. One of the full blade, the other a closeup of the image.
Have Fun
Herb

Love the "Woodies" on Novaculite (love that stone too) blade, Herb. Waiting anxiously to see the final.
-
Drew, I'm not finding an email in this electronic contraption. If you're still at the same address as last year we're all set though.
"I'm in for two so far"... last year this guy entered FIVE in the swap!! :D

Jeremy,
sent you an email this evening, earlier.

I have my knife finished, is is o1 steel with a cherry burl handle, and some file work on the spine. I will try to post some pics if I can remember how. I did not make a sheath, I have not gotten into leather work yet. Pics coming soon, Dave Hiltz

Anyway, my email address is

Yep same address Jeremy

-
I got my knife done this weekend. I will post pictures when I get the shealth done. O1 toolsteel figured walnut handle. Chad
-
Done with my second knife.Like HolmMade. when sheath isdone Ill get em posted.
-
JEEZE..with everything thats been going on with me since this thread got started I thought I'd never get any knives done. Well here is one for starters (http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/JOHN4Mystikbow/100_4665.jpg)
I'm not sure the Bison leather sheath goes with it though. I think it would look better dressed in a buckskin sheath with fringe like this one
(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/JOHN4Mystikbow/knifesheaths.jpg)
-
Here is another one that I have almost finished
(http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y215/JOHN4Mystikbow/100_4667.jpg)
I think I'll dress this one in buckskin as well.
Jeremy,I'll e-mail ya with a total knife count in a few days.
-
Nice looking blades there Mystic. I know the bottom pic is obsidian, the first one looks like it might be agate. Or is it just some translucent obsidian? If you're looking for opinions I like the buffalo sheath with the beadwork just fine.
Have Fun
Herb
-
Nice looking knapping! Great work Mystik!

I finally finished my first for the swap. Old circular saw blade, bllodwood and maple with my first sheath aswell. Oal 5 1/2" Blade 2 1/4". One question will everyone be including descriptions of the knives they send out. I like the idea so you know what it's made of and who made it etc.. Skippy

Nick

The St Jude's Auction starts then too.
Yeah, that means I have to pound out at least 2 knives this month (and finish the blades that are promised to people)
I'll try to get an updated list up tonight or tomorrow to see how many I've forgotten :bigsmyl:

I'm new at making knives but I thought I'd get in on the swap. I made this knife from a 10" table saw blade. The handle is osage. Hope it's up to par with all of your great knives.

Looks like a good 'un Aaron! :)

Nice knife ALW, love that osage.
Dan

Is everybody going to hate me if I don't get a "sheath" made for my little ol' entry - or just the poor unlucky soul that gets it? I got a couple of the tools together that I needed to try to make a sheath but never have yet and can't seem to get started. I was finishing up my Osage bow, now it's time for Baltimore and Hickory shoots (next two week ends), and St. Jude Auction quickly following. I'm still trying guys but don't hold me to it, please. I am gonna learn how to do them though (sooner or later) 'cause I want to! So many fun things to do, so little time :saywhat:
:banghead:
-
No worries on the sheath Bernie. I know a bunch of guys aren't planning on making one at this point. Leatherwork is a whole 'nother thing to learn.
-
I am going to wait to see who I was going to be sending the knife to before makeing a sheath to see if there rightys or leftys .
-
With all the guys here that can make them, I don't think a missing sheath is a problem at all.
Don't sweat it, have fun in the swap.
Dan
-
-
Finally finished my entry to the swap, with 2 weeks to spare, HA!
A super sharp hunter with cpm154 blade and stabalized bacote handles with burgandy liners. Sheath is plain, and is already waterproofed for someone to take it anywhere, in any weather. Blade is a little under 3" and the overall length is 7".
The burgandy liners will go well with blood. :D

I have my knife almost done.Cut the blade from an old 30" saw blade. Last year I used a blade I bought. This year I made it all 100%.I may not be able to make a sheath,I cant find any leather local might recycle an old boot. Leon
-
Dan,
WOW not much more I can say.
Nick
-
Nice one Dan. A little jeweling,a little file work, nice lines and a Bacote handle. WOW! Can't ask for any more than that.
-
Thanks. But I can't knap a stone blade like you can Mystik!
-
Fantastic knife Dan. I'm starting to think someone is going to get jipped with my knife!
Aaron
-
I decided to donate one of the other ones I previously thought I'd swap to St. Jude's... but I finished another one this morning. A gentleman's pocketknife. I didn't make this one from a bog old saw blade, but I did assemble it from a kit. Bocote from this year's elk bow I am making. Polished up the brass, which was a first for me. came out pretty good I think.
No sheath with this one either BER643.
Mike

Here's my completed entry for the knife swap. Blade is a Helle Varg from Dryad and wingnut. Handle is Pau Ferro and Curly maple with a horn Cap.Blade is 2 7/8 inches long.Overall length is 7 3/8 inches. This years knife comes with a sheath.

Good looking stuff on here!!!
-
Boy that sure is pretty. I'm starting to feel embarassed about mine.
-
Same here I'm feeling a little sad myself. Wish I had more time to whip up a new one.
-
Damn Lee, Thats a sweet lookin knife. It wont be long now guys. I should have finished pics of the knives I'm swaping up this weekend.
YEEEEHAAAAW
-
I'm with you fellas...I would be embarrassed to show my knives after seeing some that have been made! We all gotta start somewhere, I guess!
-
I'm thinking someone is going to feel shortchanged when they get mine. Some really NICE knives on here.
-
Thanks everyone, each one I put together seems to get better. Those Helle blades are Super Glue sharp too! :scared: :scared:
-
Not to worry guys. Every knife in this swap is exceptional. Each one is made and or put together in some form or fasion by your fellow Trad Ganger and will be prized by all who receive them.
-
Here's my Swap knife...It's scary sharp and we thought it turned out good...Trying to get one more made in time...and we'll get a sheath made for this one..Hope who ever gets it is happy....Skyler (http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k209/rickybob_2006/CIMG1873.jpg)
-
How about another updated list? The drawing is very near!
All of the knives I have seen so far are great. Lots of life in them.
Dan
-
I'll get an updated list up in a bit. Trying to go through all the new emails and PMs... for some reason I stopped getting emails when I get PMs, and that's leading to some 'lost' info. I think I'm up to over 200 messages of one kind or another, many updating addresses, number of knives and such. I'm sure I'll mess a few of 'em up! :D
-
Ok gents, I have my swap knives with sheaths done. Here they are. Hope they are worthy of some of the fine steel knives that are gonna be swapped here.
First photo shows the knives naked. Top blade is obsidian with a touch of mahoghany, 2nd blade is Mahoghany obsidian,3rd blade is called silver sheen obsidian.
The knives are dressed in: from top to bottom
Bison leather belt sheath with white and black glass beads for trim.
The sheaths on the left and right are brain tanned deer hide neck sheaths. Both are trimmed with Oneida Indian Nation glass, cats eye beads.
-
WOW! How sharp are those obsidian blades? Are they for show or use? Fragile? I obviously know nothing about them other then i like how they look  :notworthy:
-
Very nice knives Mystic!
-
John,
Those are super, The person that receives one of those is receiving a true work of ART! :clapper: :clapper:
-
owlbait,
They are fairly sharp. Obsidian is among some of the sharpest volcanic glass to be found. I made these from preformed slabs. My knapping technique
and skills are not any where near most knappers. I have a long way to go.
So these knives would be better suited for use as a patch type knife or yeah, Show.
-
Didn't get back for a while but thanks for the answers on the sheath a few pages back, guys, You're the best!

That's at least 73 knives!!!! If there's a "*" by your name I don't have/can't find your address. If I haven't heard from ya just drop me a line and let me know if you're still in.

It's coming down to the wire, but my blade is coming along, though not what I had intended... it's a good case for keeping the steel at the proper temperature while forging thin steel... "I can get one more blow in!" - SNAP!
-
Fellas,
Remember to post pics of knives you recieve, we all like to see everything. At least I would.
Mike
-
Im still in Jeremy....been real busy with work, fatherhood, and then I snapped a smoke obsidian blade while finishing the edge on it. I have it all set and ready to go, so I will be working on it the nest few days.
-
I'm in the same boat as you Jamie! Lots to do and little shop time.
I hot-cut, drew out and forged a nice decorative guard on the blade I was making, then bent it down and out of the way to do the bevels. I went to turn it back up into place and get everything ready for the heat treat and let the real thin steel cool off too much before tapping it with the hammer... SNAP! Completely changed what I was planning on doing!
-
I have to make a correction on the blades I posted. I should pay more attention to what the heck I posted I guess. The only blade I knapped from a preform slab was the Mahogany Obsidian.
The other two blades I purchased from a couple of knappers I know.
-
Here are the 2 I did for the swap. Both of these, the blades I aquired on a swap with Sticshooter. I put the handles on and made the sheaths. Sorry for the fuzzy pic. Brock

Jeremy, I'll be at the Great Lakes Bowfishing Championship this weekend and won't be able to respond to e-mail until LATE Sunday. I probably won't be able to ship until Tuesday. Hope that is not a problem.
owlbait Mike Gerard
-
Not a problem Mike. I'll be drawing this weekend and will start to send out emails shortly after that.
-
Jeremy, I'm sorry to say I am out. No way I'll be able to do even a fair job on finishing one.
-
Jeremy,
I have finished my knife. Will post pics in a moment.

There is a sheath with it...its just not in the photo. Its a 3 inch trout/bird knife with a false grind on top...amboyna burl handle, stainless pins.
Where do I send it Jeremy? Inquiring minds want to know!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Its getting close I'm going to spend some shop time tomorrow and finish a neck knife or two' for the swap.
-
Time is UP!!!
I'll give the last few people I haven't heard from today and tomorrow, then draw names Sunday night and start sending out emails!
I'll post the final list in a little bit... email browser is telling me there are a dozen new messages, but it's not letting me get to them!

Sent you two e mails Jeremy, there must be some kind of issue.Anyway, my two are done.Ill try emailing you again.
-
Ru thats a sweet little knife you built there .
-
Ru, Thats a beauty man!! I especially like the leaf etching.
-
Ray - I like that burl you used for the handle. Looks great.
RU- awesome little skiner.
-
You really have to hold one of Ru's knives to appreciate exactly what he pulls off with those little knives! :clapper:
I know a few of the guys on my "waiting to hear from" list are bust with the auction. I'll send 'em a PM and see if they're still in. As soon as I hear back I'll start drawing and sending out emails.
-
Your killing me Jeremy !! OH the suspense !!
:biglaugh: :biglaugh:
-
Im still in....NYSDEC has been keeping me busy but I should be able to send my knife out in the next day or two...
Im rather awed by the knives everyone has made....awesome work all the way around!
-
Ru...amazing work AGAIN!
OK I finally finished up, and after another coat of spar it will be ready to ship. No sheath, my leather working isnt even close to being worthy.
Deer leg handle, python skin accents, a spur from my first and last bow(wheelie) Tom, a smoke obsidian blade. I have to throw a HUGE thanks out to horatio1226...without him, I would have dropped out of this fine event. I broke the blade I was knapping and he hooked me up with this one. Thanks Brian...Hope you guys like it.
-
OK...so now what?????????????
-
we keep waiting with suspense better than a scary book :bigsmyl:
-
OK, I've checked the list of who gets what - twice - which means I've almost certainly missed someone :D
I'll start sending out emails in a few minutes and will post again when I finish everything up :)
-
no hurry Jeremy no pressure were very very very patient . by the way we all know your doing a great job brother .
-
I got my email... :D
-
Me too! Are we supposed to tell?
-
You can if'n you want, or you can let them be surprised for a little bit. Everyone will find out after the fact anyway, but the suspense is nice :)
The first third of the list is done, with emails sent to either the address I was given or the address TradGang has on file.
I'm tired, going cross-eyed and from the sound that just came over the baby monitor I'll be needing to check on a diaper in a few minutes (it's amazing how something that small can make a sound - and smell - THAT big!)
Please be patient just a little longer; I'll get the rest of the emails out tomorrow evening.
There are 78 knives in the swap this year!!
-
No, don't tell. Suspense rules.
Mike
-
Jeremy,
Thanks for keepin this thing all together again this year brother!! Especially with a new addition to the family and all. A commendable job for sure. :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
JOHN
-
amen to that, Mystik....well done, Jeremy. Above and beyond for sure.
-
SAME HERE Jeremy....Great Job....Sky and Don
-
Are we actually swapping with the person you emailed us or are we sending them a knife and getting one from someone else?
Sorry for the stupid question...guess I could go back to page one and see what it says.
-
Hooked,
The list is completely randomized. I cheated this year... I gave everyone a number(s) based on how many knives they put up this year (ie 1-78) then used a random number generator to randomize the same set of numbers. Put the two sequences side-by-side and you get who to send each of your knives to. As people emailed me all their info went into an Excel sheet. All I needed to do to contact most people was click on the email addy in the sheet and paste the mailing addresses. I have had to hunt down a few emails and addresses, but most of those were from guys who were in last year's swap... I still have the Excel sheet from that.
After everything is finished up here I'll post the entire list, but like elk ninja said, suspense rules :)
-
You are just toooooooo organized, Jeremy - nice job!
Got my e-mail too (had to go and rescue it from the automatic "Junk Mail" pile - LOL) Durn thing lets stuff through I don't want, and kicks stuff out that I'm waiting for. Thanks again. (Wonder why Jeremy "looks" like Junk Mail??? ;) )
-
Haven't got my recipients yet. Hope I didn't trash the email! Great job Jeremy!
-
Jeremy just a suggestion but if you just posted the list on here it would save you a bunch of emails .
-
Got the email. Knives are going in the mail today.
-
Dorris,
that would kill the suspense!
-
Hooked I guess your right .
-
I better check my junk email list. I'm having a lot of trouble lately, I get emails but have trouble sending them. Jeremy, does the email have your name in it?
-
Eddie, the email has the subject "knife swap" and should have my name at the end of it. You should have gotten one last night. It went to the email addy in your TradGang profile
-
I didn't get it. Let me search through some stuff. Can you resend it to Mechlesher, just in case I can't find it?
-
Got my knives sent out today, the recipients should get them in a couple of days. Start looking for the mailman or maybe I should say the Postal employee.
-
Jeremy I sent you a PM. Eddie
-
Jeremy, dont throw out those diapers when you cjange them. The stuff inside would probably make a real nice Hamon on your blades.Seriously though thanks for putting this together.
-
That ain't right Izzy!!
OK, all the emails (and a few PMs) have been sent. If your ISP or mail provider doesn't let it through in a few hours shoot me an email to see if I had the right address or PM me. I think I've cleared my PM box out enough :)
I do have to correct a previous post of mine...
There are 80 knives in the swap this year!!
-
:notworthy: :notworthy:
-
Got my address to night and will send em out tomorrow. This was big FUN. THANX D.

Kevin
-
Got my email. Knives will be in the mail tomorrow. Hope the 2 guys are happy with them. Thanks again to Jeremy for orginizing this. We all appreciate it very much.
Brock
-
LOL - My suspense is gone already - BUT I am still very anxious to see my Knife.
It turned out that the person who was to send me mine (I'm not gonna tell who yet) also won one of my items on the St. Jude auction so we had double communications going on and he asked if I would like some "extras" done to my knife and sheath. Being one who has always believed in giving an artist/craftsman his head on a project, I immediatly "turned him loose", telling him I was sure the wait would be well worth it.
When I get the knife I will post pics and tell the maker's identity, (if it isn't already known by then). I'm Pumped!
Thanks again Jeremy, and all who entered.
-
Still no luck on the e-mail. Jeremy, I sent you an e-amil to your personal e-mail adddress and another through Tradgang. Try it again maybe--Larry
-
I received my e-mail and will be sending out both knives today. One to Rooster1 the other to Stickshooter.
One is stone and antler the other is a Carbon chopper with cherry burl handle.
Not telling who gets what - that is the surprise.
Bob Urban
-
I received my e-mail and will be sending out the stone blades tomorrow morning.
-
My 2 will be in tommorrow morning's mail :D
-
Larry, I'll shoot you another email and PM with the info when I get home tonight.
Bernie, my suspense is gone already too! LOL! :D
-
