Here is a kids bow I finished up today. It is 46" long and is a copy of my navajo caddo. The bow is just under 1 inch at the fades and runs a straight taper to 3/8" tips. I used .030 glass and a .04 action wood parallel and a .09 (.001/in) tapered action wood lam. Osage tips. I have not scaled it but from the other I have made I estimate about 15# at 18".

Very nice. You look to have a happy child in your future.
Sweet bow! My 5yr old saw the pic and said I needed to make her one like that, so I ordered my Bingham catalogue, lol.
Very nice looking bow. Whoever gets it is going love it. I just finished a 20# glass laminated bow that I gave to my Club to raffle off. Light weight bows are a bit hard to find and we need to do all we can to insure that kids have bows to shoot.
Thanks guys. This is my third attempt and they seem to get a little better each time. I plan to take it to K-Zoo this weekend and maybe find a home for it.
very nice :0)
Very good!! Osage and black glass do look good !!
Give a kid that bow and they will treat it like a bow, Give them a plastic bow and they treat it like a toy.
A fine little bow like that will make the kids apreciate that it is just like Dad's, and treat it the same, Or better. It also gives them more interest in the sport when they have good gear.
My grand daughter {6 yrs old}takes a cloth on wet days to wipe the rain off of her Mad Dog Pup.

Pete, I am sure she gets that from Grandpa. :)
