Title: Morrison in the mail
Post by: Three Arrows on January 19, 2008, 09:44:00 PM
I bought a Morrison Cheyenne from Bob this week. It is 62#@29"(my draw) with 'D' limbs.  It is phenolic with dark limbs.  I made a string for it with padded loops and shot four five-shot groups before I shot this group.  The last group was from 16,18,20,22, then 24 yards.  I felt a tear start to form when the last arrow (with orange nock) hit the target.  Well, maybe it was just the cold wind that made my eyes water.  Bob has another satisfied and happy customer. It's a beautiful thing! I am still in love with the one I bought from Bob. Just ordered another set of limbs for it. I am shooting 56# now. I am wondering what length and which Carbon Express you are shooting out your bow? I am thinking of trying some carbons out.  Thanks.

I am using Carbon Express Heritage 350's with 100gr. brass inserts and 125gr field pts cut to 30".  I tried Grizzlysticks with this bow, but had not found success yet.  I am contemplating a Shawnee with both styles of limbs for summer shooting if Bob can make me a bow by then.  I am also quite fond of the heaviness of the phenolic risers because of their stability at the release.  They are also stable before the release.

How much does the Phenolic Risers weigh? Anyone know if Bob will do a Shawnee in Phenolic?

Yes I agree, not fanciful like all wood but dense and stable.  Can you send me pics of your Dakota?

I am not a particularly good shot.  The bow even at 60 plus pounds felt very good.  Even now when I pick it up it groups just like magic.  When I use a high anchor right below my eye, I group even better.  Years ago, I went to Coudersport for the end of July shoot and was told that I am cheating by shooting like that.  I taught myself to shoot that way in the 80's since no one was around to teach me otherwise.  I have since adopted the lower anchor but still practice the high anchor from time to time.  This winter, I have started to use the high anchor more often as I am more accurate this way.

Go to Morrison website and check the Cheyenne bows in stock #7170 for the riser and #7183 for the limbs.

What's the matter? Couldn't shoot a tighter group?   ;)
