I was watching a tv show a couple of weeks ago and they showed a guy making custom rifles and on the stock of one he had what he called a hunters star. He said it was a good luck symbol for hunters. Has anyone heard of this before? or any other similar symbols? I thought it was a cool symbol and thought about having it as a tatoo.
Check out some custom made flintlock rifles, there are all kinds of symbols on them. Even better is to check out pictures of original rifles made in Pennsylvainia during the 1700's. Sorry I don't have any links.
Look at Dixie gun works website it should be in the gunbuliding section.
I've got them inlayed on my muzzle loaders, good mo-jo! Leland
I just did a quick search and came up with quilt patterns. looks like it is a 8 pointed star shape.

Honestly here. The star is representative of the Holy Feminine. The compass rose represents this, as does any representation of a rose-----including the pentagram(pentacle). This would be a very strong charm for a bow, and a strong one for your tattoo.
