1. Cut the flage off an aluminum insert that fits your arrow shaft.
2. Test fit and if real tight, sand it down lightly to a snug fit.
3. Take a Thill bobber light or similar product(must be the press on type, there are twist on/off models) and drill out a translucent nock very gently with a drill until the light fits up high in the nock.
4. If the nock fits too tight in the arrow shaft, lightly sand nock until fit is snug but not loose.
5. Turn the light on, insert into nock, put the insert on the other end and slide down the shaft until the nock is seated. On the Thill lights I have used, the red plastic tip is just at the end of the shaft.
6. Remove the nock and light. Place thin super glue (not the gel kind) down the shaft but must make contact with the insert and inside wall of shaft. Alternative, use a small amount of epoxy on the end of the insert and slide down shaft as above.
7. Don't glue your insert into the broadhead end of arrow until after you get your lighted nock positioned correctly. If you mess up, you can take a dowel rod and tap out the insert and start over.
8. Craft the rest of the arrow.
9. To use, insert light with off position into shaft and slide nock down until there is about a 1/32in gap. When you shoot the nock will snap down onto the light, turning it on.
10. Smile as a bright red dot arcs through the night sky.

using the insert as a stop is a very good idea that i had not thought of. If you do a search you will find a build along that i did for a lumenok. The only flaw i found in your plans is that you must remove the nock to turn the light off each time.

Kyle, I read your thread on your version. Good advice on people being careful about weakening the nock if drilled out- so far hasn't happened to me.
