Nothing too fancy, but very functional.Plus it's the only one I have, don't see a need for another, this fills every need.

Knife is a Damascus blade from Doug Campbell, armguard was made for me by Clint V.

This was made for me by a guy whose friendship I treasure.

It belongs to Dano, now. If my arm were one inch longer, Dano would have never laid eyes on it!

Killie, that's just incredible...couldn't you take growth hormones or something to grow that arm an inch?

I must say those are some pretty sweet armguards...  I wanted to make an armguard and a few for my kids and was wondering about having the knife on there.  Seems like the string would catch??  Anyone have any problems with that?  They all seem to have the knife on the top.  Any thoughts?  I know mine won't be that fancy, but the knife idea is pretty cool.  Thanks for posting all these!

Where are you folks that make your own guards buying the elastic cord, and what is the best size? I have some leather and would like to make my own but not having any luck locating the cord.
Thanks

wtpops:  Looks mighty good to me.  Nice work on your first.  Can;t imagine what they'll look like after you get more under your belt.

Not to hijack, but I have always wondered if your actually carved the leather or do something else to acheive your design?  PM'ing would be fine for an answering

I was wondering the same thing.  Where to get the Eagle, Globe and Anchor stamp.  If you find out, let me know also.

Mine goes with a matching quiver.
Welsh Dragon Scales and Asham Arrows and on bottom of the quiver is a Celtic Knot.
Is that OK gor a guy to say he has a matching quiver and arm guard?

none of them are for sale, there are present for friends when I go on a hunting trip. It's like a tradition for me to bring a little present on every hunt I do oversea. There all have been made by my father who used to be a western saddle maker.

You can bet the stamp from the leather factory.
www.leatherfactory.com (http://www.leatherfactory.com)

And if anyone who is a Marine orders something from me and wants it to be stamped with the EGA just tell me ya want it....

I made the one that Rob has, and Jeff you got your first trad kill with that one....thats great!

About the stretch cord you can buy it at any of the big fabric stores for like $2.00 a yard.

I had to stop making stuff when we had our twin girls, man ole man twins are hard to keep up with!

Mike G...

No doubt Tradgang is fully loaded with talented cratfpeople as shown in the arm guards above and thoughout the hundreds of pages of items...but,

Theres nothing plain about your well thought out vented arm guard with a knife and sheath and easy on and off like that one.

Great lines and beautiful craftsmenship.   :clapper:

I'm presently sending a money order for one of Mike's armguards. I totally agree with Kingstaken, there is nothing plain and no need to apologize for quality.

I don't need an armguard for stopping the string sting, I use it to keep a loose bow arm sleeve tucked in nice 'n' neat.

I love fancy armguards but can't use one. I have the kind of arm configuration that the string finds on almost every shot. My string would wipe the fancy design off one in a few weeks. I don't hit my arm when I shoot a recurve but my selfbows are really rough on an armguard.

Eric,
Have you thought of an insert, like cow horn or something? When it starts getting a little scuffed up looking, you just borrow a fingernail buffer and shine it up like glass again!

This arm guard, with Celtic motif, I got from Felix, a guy from Spain. It was a gift for a translation in spanish of my R/D bow build-along.
