Title: "Poor man's" hip quiver
Post by: Raineman on January 12, 2008, 03:12:00 PM
I needed a hip quiver bracket for my Kwikee in a hurry so I came up with this.

You know those old cell phone clips from the obsolete nextels?

Set your mounting bracket on there and mark your holes at the angle you desire.

Drill your holes (WARNING-Be prepared to spend some time doing this. This thin piece of metal is almost impenetrable-I broke 4 drill bits doing it---I know....not so cheap now) and get some self tapping sheet metal screws and attach your bracket.

Wa-La-

I used mine this morning, attached to my day pack and it worked great. I am still gonna get a proper one from one of our sponsors, but in a pinch and in a hurry and functions very well.

When ever I have to drill something really hard I heat the hole location to cherry red and let it cool. This usually softens the metal so the hole can be drilled easily.
