Title: Weight Tubes
Post by: Jager on January 11, 2008, 03:07:00 PM
I shoot Bemnan 340s and I was wondering about weight tubes. I have a couple arrows with weight tubes and I think they effect the spine. Does anyone have this trouble or am I imaging it? I really need to bare shaft them to now I guess....

from what I understand, they make the spine weaker.

Adding any weight to the arrow weakens/decreases spine, right?  Whether it's in the head, insert, wt. tubes, etc...   The more the arrow weighs, the more it flexes when the released string tries to move it.  I would like someone that knows to confirm my thought.  The way I explained it makes sense to me...

I added 3Rivers 5 grain weight tubes to 4 arrows this week and re-fletched them.  I stacked them one on top of the other from 20 yards today.  I was worried that weakening the spines might have an adverse effect, but that is not the case for me.  Your mileage may vary.

I dont know, but I like the idea of weed eater line. Does it rattle? How much weight does it add?
