I havent posted here in a long while, just got my password squared away actually, last time I posted I was in Afghanistan. Now I'm in Iraq.
Just wanted to say thanks....I emailed John at Sipsey River about making me some arrows I could use over here, and he really hooked me up. Gave me a deployed soldier discount and I really appreciated his help.
But, he also did one better. A guy named Jeff Carter, who runs Southern Draw Bows, also sent two really nice longbows over here for guys to shoot and learn on. Very nice. They get shot every day almost, missions allowing.
This was a truly nice thing to do, and you'll never know how much we over here appreciate support like this.
Plus it helps us make more trad bow shooters and hunters, and that cant be bad.
If you get a chance, please support the people who support us.
thanks

Russ, I too have great things to say about Sipsey River. How are things with you 11 Boo's, myself I was a 19D " Scouts Out". I guess you guys are "T" Patchers now? I Scouted for 1st Tank back in the mid 90's when we still were the 49th. I got my time and left as a SFC. I have been working for Dallas Fire since 87. Let me know if you need anything over there. Stay Low and Good Hunting, If you ain't CAV you ain't @#*&. Suty
John IS a top-shelf guy for sure. It makes a guy proud to be an American all over again when he can see this kind of support.
You guys over there are certainly in our thoughts and prayers. Don't you ever think even for a minute that you are forgotten over there.
HooYah! Jeff
Stay Safe out there Russ, you're in our thoughts and prayers.

Russ, thank you for protecting me and my family.

And thank you Russ for what you are doing

God speed to you and all our troops Russ, Thank you for everything you do for us.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your support, and you are most certainly welcome. This is not much fun, but it is very necessary at times, and it is what we do. I, and my guys, are honored to be doing it. My only hope is that I can take as many as possible of them home, and that my daughter will have a safer place to grow up in.
My snipers and I are working on that, one by one.
Small world Suty. I am a former 19D from the scout platoon in 1st Tank. Now I'm the sniper section sergeant for 3rd Battalion, 144 Infantry. Got two MOS's, and they both make me get dirty, cant beat that.
You are all right about this site being full of truly excellent people, I run into them all the time. We have received truly amazing support from many of the people here, and I am awed by it.
Just so you know, we are winning. BIG. Dont pay any attention to the news. They shouldnt even call it news anymore, but one four letter word starting with "S" is already taken.
Thank you all. We got this.
Russ
Russ.
My friend, very happy to see ya posting again.
Keep your head down, better yet keep their heads down....
If ya need anything let me know....
Russ, When were you in 1st tank ? I don't know if anyone that was with me back then is still in. I was Active from 80-85, 3/2 ACR in Germany then 1/502 PIR and finally 3/70 AR at lovely Ft.Polk. Joined TXARNG and was in 1st Tank Scouts up until 92-93. Been at Dallas F.D. since 87 work at 15's in Oak Cliff, a member of TXTF2 or Texas Task Force 2 Urban Search and Rescue. I am for sure that you and your guys are busy and that's good. If you need anything let me know and I will see that it gets to you. "Scouts Out" and Good Hunting, over....Suty
Russ, thanks for the good words. Be careful!
Whay to go John.
SFC Clagett,
Thank you for what you are doing for our great country. I was in 1/214 FA HHB out of Elberton GA Georgia Army National guard until December 2005 when a medical condition put me out. Stay safe and we'll be praying for you, your soldiers, and your family.
Right on, Russ!
Im a 19D also. Platoon Sergeant in B Troop 1/10 CAV at Ft. Carson. I spent some time in 4/7 CAV in 1997. Had alot of buddies in 1st Tankwhile I was there. We're gearing up to head out in a few months. This will be #3 in the box. Im also trying to stock pile arrows, bows and what not so we can have a little fun when time permits.
Keep your head down. Mabey we'll cross paths one day. Im the only Capaz in the Army. You know the Scout world is a small world too.

Russ - Glad to hear you can get in some archery while on deployment. Stay safe !
Sipsey river archery is a great outfit to deal with and Marcia is really on top of things. Quick response to emails and order requests.
Didn't we have a "donation box" going here at tradgang for our deployed troops at one time ?
If not, I'd sure like to send a few doo dads, arrows and such where needed.
Gordy -Marcia says thanks for the kind words.
