Just curiouse as to how many poeple are still getting into the woods with the bow after deer season. I know i am, i try to get out at least twice a week to chase, tree rats, grouse, or bunnies..which ever presents the shot most times lol. I hope to have some pictures up soon. Lets see some of your pictures.

I will as well. My husband has dared me to go for the redneck grand-slam. All small game like bunnies, coon, turkey, etc. We will see.
I got a few bunnies this past weekend. Its almost time for shed hunting here.
I love to stalk around after small game, to be honest I like deer hunting but small game is a lot more fun. There is a lot less competition and access to land is easier to gain if your just after small game, no one seems to care then.
ill be goose hunting with the curve next saturday and the week after ill be pheasant hunting with the curve.
I love hunting bunnies but the coyotes have really taken their share around here. In years past I'd have tons on my property this time of year but so far this year I've only seen one and have yet to get off a shot.
My deer season ends this Sunday and then it small game hunting and habitat restoration for me.
My bow is always with me while I check the trap line. I like small game hunting so much I dare say its my favorite thing to do with a bow.
I'm ready to go for bunnies.Need a skift of snow, don't have a dog anymore.. :( :campfire:
We're supposed to get a couple inches here Sunday. The beagle is getting a bit chubby and I think its time to get her out in the briars...

Going for snowshoe hares next week for a day, can't wait....

I chased them and coyotes the other day - Blast!!!
I've been out a couple times after bunnies. Ryan I have a old chubby beagle to and a young skinny one. They make a good pair.
I hope we get our snow back also its been raining and we have water standing. The only good thing was I found all my arrows from the mmmisses.
The bunny population is down in my spots but we always head out with high hopes.
Ive gone out a few times I got within shooting range of a squirrel but had some limbs in the way. I have to agree small game hunting with a bow is one of my favorite things. For me alot more fun because you get to shoot more and always seems to be alot of action. I can recall one day I spent 4 hours in the woods stalking squirrels
We still have a few weeks left of deer hunting here, but I'm always also hunting small game. :-D
Me and ridgerunner, bowwalker, speedwalker, and stumpsniper will be doing our annual longbow squirrel hunt next week--looking forward to that
been out the last 3 weekends the snow is about kneedeep, the rabbits are plentiful and rather
safe.and I am having a ball can't wait til tomorrow
Squirrel, Rabbit, Possum, Fox, 'Coon, Dove, Woodcock, Grouse...
If its legal, Im after it...
Leavin in a couple hours to try for some grey-squirrel. Hope the rain lets up.
Possum? please elaborate WhiteHair, i have never pursued a possum with my bow. Traps yes, grinners love finding my coon traps but ive never hunted them.

I love small game hunting. I went for awhile today. With the snow melt off, I found a blunt tipped carbon from last week's escapee:)
I got out for a couple hours this afternoon. The woods were very quiet. I was trying for a black phase Abert's Sqirrel for flytying supplies. I found some fresh Abert's cuttings but no squirrel. I did get a shot at a Red Squirrel.. but I missed...3 times.
Wabbits. Fried and dipped in ranch dressing... yum..
The rain did not let up---so we bagged it for that day. Went this AM---walked a lot just at the snow line. Saw one Valley quail flying---no opportunities for squirrels. Pretty day---killed a couple of stumps.
I love small game hunting. so far I've bagged rabbits, squirrel, goose and woodchuck. :)
Monday, there was a break between storms. Three of us spent the morning walking down here in the valley, as there was much snow in the foothills. Ground so soggy that nearly every shot with a Judo required a wash in the nearest puddle. Pretty day, lots of waterfowl on the seasonal ponds, and a great blue heron that scared the snick outa my brother when he surprised it from the grass.
Other then deer season I need every excuse possible to get out in the woods to shoot. You bet I'm out there trying for small game. I also put my efforts toward coyotes since I can hunt them 365 here in PA.
How small they gotta be? This is my favorite hunting after deer season!

I have loosed a few arrows at some tree rats and a rabbit or two but have not been able to put any in the freezer yet.
Now that the Winter Jersey season is winding down, I'll be out flinging wood at squirrels and rabbits. We have the Bunny Hunt Feb 17th but I'll be out early mornings stumpin and squirrel chasing til the end of Feb.
Me and Hucklebeagle (Huckleberry, my yellow Lab) get after the rabbits at least several days a week. The rabbit population is way up this year in my neck of the woods. Hopefully he hasn't forgot that he's a bird dog too.

How can you tell Albert's cuttings from any other ? I have never seen an Albert's except in photos.
ChuckC
Apex Predator,
what arrow setup did you use to take that hog?
Our group managed to get out and chase some bunnies last weekend. Here is me on the left with Two Hats. Two very happy Wabbit Hunters!
