I will preface the question with the fact I have shot a bow for about 50 years --with two fingers; not three. I have the fingers; I just learned to shoot two fingers..
I have this nice longbow that is well over 70 pounds at my draw; and I am used to that; but the fast flight string on it resulted in blisters after blisters; and it just got to where it hurt too much to shoot it.
So; as I have with other bows; I put an 18 strand dacron string on it. Yep; what people call a rope.
All my other bows have wide bow tips... this one does not. So wilst stringing it up; the string flipped off the bow and provided a moment of intrigue.
The bow tips are way smaller than the string; and although I strung it up; and I am hoping it stretches out; I have to wonder if this is a dangerous situation for the bow???
I did draw it back; slowly; and it didn't come off; but I gotta wonder if this is one of those: 'what the heck were you thinking' moves on my part..?
I really really like 18 strand flemish strings.. I really do for my two finger shooting; but am I being foolish about this because of the bow tip size?????

Instead of using a rope with the loops too large why not double serve your FF string where your fingers touch? I did this on several strings on a heavy bow that hurt my fingers and it worked like a champ. If you're shooting split you can double serve top and bottom and the gap will be your nock point.
Brian... if you just like the 18 strand for it's "bulk" then it might be as easy as making a 14 or 16 strand string and puttin additional strands under the center serving. (it's the way I do it... but for nock fit).
I then go ahead and double serve above and below the arrow nock spot making a "bump" for feeling the nocking point during "distracted nocking". ;) Like Madness522 suggested.
