I just got a new Sipsey Stick R/D longbow in the mail early this morning and have been shooting it ever since. WOW what a shooter. This bow is VERY well designed and VERY well crafted. It has no handshock, no stack, very quiet and pretty darn quick. It is a 58" model and 45#s @ 28"s. I've been shooting my 450 grain Gold Tip 33/55's and they are flying great. The bow seems to like a high brace height (maybe due to the forward riser) but that's okay by me. I've owned and shot SEVERAL R/D longbows and this new Sipsey Stick will hold it's own with any of them.
If you're thinking about a new R/D hybred longbow you'd be wise to give John at Sipsey River Traditional Archery a call. These bows won't break the bank and you won't be waiting months on end for it to arrive.

Make sure you bring it to the club meeting Sunday, i need another bow.LOL

Without pics this is all hearsay. So come on, pics already! LOL

okay...I am sending jdc some pics to post of the new Sipsey Stick. for some reason I'm having trouble with photobucket lately.
-
I'm with Vermonster on this one. Heresy!! Or did he say Hearsay? Whatever, same thing in my book. This is your one free transgression of the Man Law. Next time, no teasing about a new bow with no pics for you my friend! LOL! You know how sick we are about looking at bows, teasing is just cruel.
Congrats on the bow, I've been thinking about one of those myself, when I figure out how to pay for the bow I have on order now of course!

The people at SRTA are good people. I'd like to take a gander at the Sipsey Stick and admire their work.

That's an interesting design. I'd like to get my hands on one and try one out.
-
Nice....
Kinda looks like the Chaparals....Is he going to make a 64"....
-
not sure Mike! give John a shout and he'll fill you in on all the options available. I know this 58"er is a sweet drawing bow.
-
Very nice! Good looker. That's a sharp design.
-
Looks like Shrew to me...how do they shoot??? mark#78
-
well Mark#78! this bow is a blast to shoot. I really enjoy shooting a bow that's dead in the hand, quiet and quick like this one. I'm not a world class shot by any means but this bow hits where I look. A little tinkering with nock position and brace height and I was putting the arrows in the 10 ring on my 3-D target pretty easy. I have some friends (Larry247 for one) that are SUPER good shots so I'm anxious to see them fling a few with this Sipsey Stick.

The bow Danny has is one of the Sipsey Stick Prototypes.
The final version has been named the Banshee and has very slight change in fadout section of the limb design. While they have been designed as a short bow, 54-60", longer lengths will be available.

Nice...

Shrew?
-
thanks for the compliments so far guys. the more I shoot the Sipsey Stick the more I like it
AND' I REALLY liked it from the first shot. :archer:
-
If its as good as SRTA's service, it has to be a winner....
-
Good looking bow. To bad it is so new. It will be years before I can buy a used one from the want ads.. :banghead:
-
I had the privelage of shooting this bow this evening, it is one of the sweetest shooting bows I've ever had my hands on....it's tillered to 45#, shoots quick and smooth. I've not shot a bow in several months and was able to stack em one on top of the other at about fifteen yards....I'd go huntin with it in the morning if the DNR wouldn't get mad!!! NICE little bow!!
-
gator1! I agree...SRTA customer service is hard to beat. the Sipsey Stick is just as good.
hey geno! give John a call....you'll be surprised what you can get one of these new bows made to order for. they are VERY reasonably priced.
-
Thanks for all the great comments, these are nice bows!
-
John,, I have an order in with you while you were gone. Looks like I'm going to have to call Monday morning and add to it.
-
Longbow huh? It's amazing how longbows are changing shape. I think this style is more of a reflex or hybrid bow.
-
Nice bow!

I have placed some pictures on the Sponsor's Classifieds. Look at Banshee with SRTA as sponsor.
