Title: Bow poundage question
Post by: CMR on February 01, 2007, 12:05:00 PM
If a bow is 50# at a 26" draw, what would the bow poundage be at a draw length of 28"?

My guess would put it around 55-56# @ 28. My bow is 50#@28 and I get 54-55# @ 29 1/2

I would say it depends on the both the length of the bow, and the angle of the string. A shorter bow could have a more severe string angle therefore "spiking" the wieght in the last two inches.

My 66" Longbow is labeled #58 @ 27".......almost dead on #60 at my 28" draw.......

If you don't have a way to measure it for sure, the general rule of thumb is 3#/in.
