Title: Glue up question
Post by: Ed Jenkins on February 01, 2007, 10:02:00 AM
I was wondering after reading alot of information on finishes if some of the same problems with oily woods are a problem with gluing up risers and limb laminations.  Outside of putting tooth on the wood and a tight fit are there any other preparations to the wood for say a Smooth On glue up that is heat cured?  I've been reading information off this forum for a while and I must say this is one of the most informative I have seen.  I want to thank everyone who is willing to put their information out for newbies like myself.

Ed... I don't take any more precaution than dusting off the material well. Used to wet them down with acetone and wipe dry but now am more concerned that the piece is dust free and well "wetted" with the glue.
No failures doing it the way I do now.
