Title: Moultrie M-80X
Post by: awbowman on June 25, 2012, 03:43:00 PM
I just purchased a couple of these cameras.  After reading some of the reviews I am now concerned whether I made a good choice or not.

Can you view pictures from the SD card on a digital camera?

Do you need Moultrie SD cards or can you use any SD card.

I have an M80 that I received for Christmas.  I've had no problem with the cards, but have seen posts of such.  I purchased several new cards and have not had a problem viewing in my digital camera.  If I recall correctly the problem occurs with high speed cards. Also if the card has been used or formatted in another device you may have problems.  Purchase new standard SDHC and only write to it with the camera.  Only use other devices such as camera or laptop to read the card, never write or format in another device and you should be fine.  Also check the firmware version on the camera, there were updates for trigger speed.  Update info is on their website.

I have the same camera.  LOVE IT!  I've had no concerns with this camera, but I can't say that with others that I've had.

I also have this camera.  The only problem I had is after a few times downloading off of the card (i have multiple cards) one wouldn't work.  It was just cleaned of all pics.  I got it to work by throwing it in my dig camera and taking a pic of something in the house so I knew it was out of place when I downloaded it the next time.  It worked fine after that.  Just a tip if you run into the same problem.
