Well, am back on Guam after a month of fun. If one were to judge my season by the amount of game taken it would be sad indeed, but from the standpoint of internet friendships solidified with in person hand shakes and hunting then it was very successful, which is the way I grade it.
I had two hunts, one in South Texas and one in far West Texas and though I had opportunities at both hunts for deer, javi and hogs, things just did not work out. But I ate some great food, shared even greater stories and camp with some of the finest people on this earth. I did connect on some bunnies a couple of quail and a turkey which due to the fact I did not want to mess my hunting area up because I was hunting a huge 12 point,I let the turkey lie until my evening hunt as he was in the thick South Texas brush and about 4:30 pm the yotes got him. The 12 never showed himself again either but it was still a great hunt and I did kill my first turkey with a bow and my first quail.
I cemented friendships for a lifetime and will share their campfires again.
Only regret is I caught some nasty bug prior to leaving so have been very ill for the past few days.
Did not get to hunt with my bro as much as I wanted to and it will be a long two years before I can go again as I have to build my leave up again.
But all in all a very fullfilling time sharing the Traditional Archery campfire.

Danny,as long as you judge it successful.....
Game taken ain't always in the successful mix!!
Bittersweet, Danny, which only points to how much you value the "real time", the time you get to spend in the field with family and friends. I enjoyed reading about your exploits in Texas.
Buy a new bow yet?
Killdeer :wavey:
Hopefully Danny you'll be assigned stateside before then.
Kenny you are absolutly correct.
Kathy, LOL, got a Shrew LIL Favorite with bowbolt on the way as we speak.
David, only God knows how much I want to be mainland side, hopefully he will answer my prayers.
Danny
Bro, I can not tell you how much I look forward to the month you are here and am sad it will be two years till I see you again. Hopefully God will answer your prayers and you will be assigned stateside before then.

David
Hey Buddy!! I hope you perk up and get to feelin' better!! It was great hunting with you and getting to meet you and see that lovely Morrison!!
Get well friend, we'll have to do it again.
Kathy, trust me if I knew anything about building bows, I would take Bob up on a job,LOL.
David,Danny and CJ, the pleasure was truly mine. I would gladly share a camp with any of you at anytime.
Danny
Fur on the ground is a nice bonus; but it ain't the trip! Hope you get rid of that nasty bug too.
I know NOTHING about building bows, and I still think about it...
My hunting seasons are always bittersweet. I suppose hunting camps are no different than life. Some are filled with people you like, value and appreciate while others are not. The one thing I feel very blessed for is the fact that I haven't had a group this year that I didn't enjoy. It was certainly a highlight to finally share camp with CJ and the Rowan Bros!!!! It was certainly long over due but well worth the wait. I'm glad you guys got into the critters and had such a great time yourselves! I showed Ted Fry's group my Birthday gifts. All were jealous. Thanks guys!!!!!!! Can't wait to do it all again! Be well! CK
Hope you get well real soon Danny, that was a nice vacation, even with the bug and everything.
