Title: Transferring from mini DV to computer?
Post by: IAOUTDOORSMAN on November 18, 2007, 06:28:00 PM
Hi, I'm fairly new to this site.  This was my first year with traditional archery.  It is also my first year at recording my hunts.  I have obtained lots of footage from my 07 season.  I would like to transpher some of the footage to my computer, but am not sure how.

I filmed my hunts with a borrowed JVC GR-D250 Mini DV camcorder.  I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 computer.

The camcorder has an ilink DV cable in/out slot.  I believe it is a 4 pin.  I have no DV cable slot in my computer (that I can locate).  All DV cables that I have located are 4pin to 4pin (nothing to a USB)    .  Is there any way I can transfer the video onto my computer?  Any advise is welcome.

Thank you.

Contact Paleface, he knows this kind of stuff. I saw in another post of his some web sites that might help as well.

Good luck and welcome to the gang.

Dave
