Title: Sony DSC-P200
Post by: kcbrown on June 28, 2006, 08:15:00 AM
Wife has got a P 200 and it seems to really blur when you have any motion in the scene. We keep it set on 3Meg most of the time. I do not know much about the other settings but would appreciate any help to prevent this if possible. Thanks.

Unless it's a physical problem with the camera, motion blur is usually a result of a slow shutter speed relative to how fast the object is moving.  I don't know the camera and its specs or how you use it.  If you're shooting in Program or Auto mode you may want to try shooting in a mode that gives you more control over the shutter speed. In darker situations or when movement is involved you may increase the ISO which would permit a faster shutter speed.  Finally if you cannot make any of these changes try panning along with the moving object.  Shoot several frames and you may find one where the object is reasonably focused while the background is blurred.
