Hey guys I am looking for the member from Ohio I think that always has the Great Photos of bucks taken while hunting. I am looking to buy a camera and would like some advice on what features I need and what to stay away from. I want a digital with good enough zoom so that when I take a photo from my tree of deer under me they do not look like flies on the wall in the photo.
Thanks for any help - Bob Urban

Hi Bob,
I am not the guy from Ohio but I am a professional photographer [Masterpeace Photographic & Digital Design] that uses mostly Canon Eos Digital equipment so my input would be biased in that direction. The first thing to consider is, what is your budget, as camera gear can get quite pricey.
Also, do you want really professional quality or will quality snapshots do.
Do you want a Digital SLR with interchangeable lenses or a point and shot you can easily conceal and pack.
These would be the first considerations. Wildlife and nature photography are very similar to hunting and the choice in gear can be as traditional or comtemporary.
Lens choice is more important than actual camera choice especially if you want the low light shots.
Also just as in archery the way you hold the camera and shoot the picture [FORM] is just as important in the making of a good sharp image.
The viewfinder should be jammed tightly against your forehead instead of the camera held out in front of you the way many people take digital pictures. Camera shake ruins more photos than any other factor.
A good picture of a deer taken at a distance can be cropped and made to look much closer thus making the photographer look like a champ.
Just some things to consider until the expert from Ohio chimes in. peace. :bigsmyl:
