What wood do you do you like best and why? thanks,Coyote2<><
I like ash as well as anything.
About the toughest wood arrow you will find.
Good weight for hunting also.
I have tried carbons, but may stick with wood.
Good hunting >>Tom>>
I prefer Birch.Heavier than POC,but not too heavy.Very durable wood,it can take a beating.Straightens fairly easy,and it's not very pricey either.
I like ramin and poplar. Ramin is good for a tuff, heavy arrow and poplar is lots tuffer than POC but close in weight to it.
Ramin or bamboo, hands down...
I'll stick with my POC. Tough enough and heavy enough. Easy to straighten. Hap
I still like good ramin when I find some.
I love maple the most or yellow birch but for a consistent supply those are hit and miss. Laminated Birch has turned out to be just as good and the availability anytime you need some is very nice. Joseph
I agree with Joseph, i think maple if ya can find good stright stuff is perfect. I think it is tougher than ash or birch. I have shot maple arrows into a 1/4" steel plate and had it split the field tip in two but the arrow was fine. Shawn
cane!
lam birch. hickory, maple, and forgewoods if you can get them.
Bill
what is ramin?
You know, ramin noodles? MMM-MMM good! Actually, its a hardwood from Asia I believe. They used to make hardware store dowel rods with it. I hear that tru ramin wood is hard to come by now. I like Douglas Fir a lot. Check out Surewood Shafts.
