Can you guys give me your thoughts on the silvertip one piece recurve. I'm thinking of ordering one and just wanted to get some opions on them. Thanks
anybody?
You hardly se one for sale in the classifieds if that say anything. I'm interested too.
I had one made by Paul that I sold when I went back to school in the late nineties (needed the money), it is the only bow I have sold that I regretted selling. The one I had was a 60" 65#@27", real smooth, no hand shock, and extremely fast. At the time I bought it in 1993 you could buy a used Schafer at any of the pawn or bow shops in Bozeman for less then $200, I paid $175 for mine and sold it for almost four times that amount in 1998. I own and have shot bows made by Dave and they shoot just as well, if not better, and the finish is definitely nicer on Dave's bows. I have been holding out getting a new one until I can convince Dave to make me a two piece with the bow bolt or some other type of two piece takedown system.
Reach out to Angelo Christiano ( Bison Gear ), he has had one for sale in the classifieds and would be a good source of information.
Tom bought me one when I first got into archery and I loved it. It was fast and quiet and I don't think you can get a better grip.
Dina,
I sold my wife's one piece Schafer to a guy in Florida around 2001-2002; wonder if your husband bought it. She loved that bow but had to give up archery due to carpal tunnel.
Hi Walt,
My husband did get the bow from a fellow in Montana. It was/is a beauty...it was about 33 pounds at my draw length and I out grew it. I sold it to David Tetzlaff the President of the Traditional Bowhunters of Florida, bought it for his wife who is still shooting it. I bet it is the same bow. It was a darkish colored bow that showed the beautiful wood grain very well...I think it was cocabolo. I may have a pic...if I do I will post it.
Thanks everyone. Countrygirl, I would like to see pictures. Thanks
