Title: Howard Hill Black Bear ?'s.....Pictures Wanted!
Post by: tenbrook on December 30, 2007, 10:43:00 PM
I am thinking of purchasing my first Howard Hill bow.  I think I want the "Black Bear" Model.  I am wondering what some Black Bear owners think of this bow? My draw length is 28" and I am going to use the bow mainly for 3D and at the range.  Would you recommend the 68" or 70"? Also is the "Black Bear" have 5 or 4 lams of bamboo? Last any "Black Bear" Photos would be real cool!

Thanks!!

I'll send you some pix of the one I just sold.  It's an excellent shooting bow.  A Black Bear is a Wesley Special ( 5 laminations of bamboo) with carbon on the back.  Mine was 68 inches.  I sold it to buy a 66-incher.  I'd would have stayed with 68-inches if I used it primarily as a target bow, but for me, it's a hunting bow and the extra length just felt a little unwieldly compared to my 66-inch Hills.  Oh, yeah, I draw just a hair shy of 28 inches.
