I'm gettting ready for the bunny hunt in febuary and I'm just about ready to fletch up my first dozen woodies of the year. Right now I'm planning to put 5.5in sheild cut feathers on them but after seeing all those cool bannana cut feathers I'm thinking about giving them a try. I know flu flus are bad for bunnies but what about a 3 fletch bannana arrow? Also does anyone know of a place where you can get them precut? -Scott
I would be happy to cut you some. I have a few different colors(solids). I have black, red, silver, and orange rust.
The nanners will work just fine for bunnies. They don't screw up speed at all---they just look cool, and I think they straighten arrow flight better than any other shape. JMHO
Why are flu flus bad for bunnies??
Shawn?
Someone?
lu's work fine for bunnies----in my experience one isn't going to get a long shot at rabbits. I haven't ever taken more than about a 15 yard shot at them-----they are hard to spot and even harder to get to stand still. I shoot both nanners and flu's at them.
What JBiorn just said.
Took 4 40 yard shots at c'tails this morning! I guess they are pressured a bit out here, and flee as soon as they know we're on the ranch. I like naners, and don't use fluflu's but others I hunt with do. See what works for you
I was told not to use Flu flu's because they get caught in the brush.-Scott
I guess we learn something new each day. I suspect that the hunting grounds look a little different in Connecticut than they look in Idaho.
Shawn told me not to use them because I guess where the bunny hunt is in NY its very brushy. Ive never been to idaho but Ive heard great things about the diversity of wildlife. CT has its fair share of brush mostly laurel.-Scott
Scott...plenty of guys on the bunny hunt were packing nanner's last year. Nothing wrong with flu-flu's either, just not your best choice when drawing down on a running rabbit in that brush.
Although, the shots all seemed pretty close range last year, so who knows...and btw, very brushy is an understatement...
any where you know of where i can get pre cut nanners
