Hey Ian,
I was born and raised in Assumption Parish but I live in Baton Rouge now.  I don't know of any clubs; I'm not much into 3D shooting.  I just love to bowhunt. Although, I do try to shoot ARTAC's "The Real Thing" which comes up once a year.  It's a very good gathering.  The only reason I shoot that is to meet other trad bow shooters and check out their equipment.

Ian,
Your best bet to find some trad shooting close to home on weekends might be the ARTAC club. Go to the club's website:  www.artac.org (http://www.artac.org)  and make contact with Mike Wesley or Steve Mullins for some advice.  There are some ARTAC members who shoot on weekends that you could probably join up with. The club has a very fine 3-D course in a great location about 45 minutes from your home town.
You can probably shoot the course once as a guest of one of the members. If you like it, you can join the club, pay the range fee, and become a regular in the club.
As others have mentioned here, ARTAC also has several club shoots on Saturdays, not to mention some tournament shoots and "The Real Thing", which is a 2 1/2 day blow-out shoot.
