Title: looking for a "full" archery glove
Post by: jacobsladder on January 31, 2007, 03:26:00 PM
Are there any archery gloves that cover the entire hand??  Like a full deerskin glove with the three shooting fingers reinforced.  If so where can I find them??

American Leathers Full Shot?

I've also got some plain deer skin work gloves that I wear when rasping or scraping a bow (Wingnut's video). I've found they work pretty well for shooting too, especially when I'm shooting in a bow off my knuckle.

Alaska Bowhunting Supply had some fleece ones with the cordovan inserts and Ed was also testing another full glove with synthetic "tips" to see how well they wore... haven't been on his site lately.

Sponsor here also!

I have been wondering the same thing, as I can't stand those little 3 finger gloves. I know it is probably too thin for most people, and I hate the velcro for hunting, but I use leather palmed batting gloves. I been wanting something without velcro and a little thicker finger leather for a while now.
I got excited when I seen this thread, and will keep an eye on it. That Full Shot glove isn't what I am looking for either.

I get the goatskin gloves from TrueValue hardware ($11 for two pair) and shoot with those when it is cold. I'm going to have a cobbler here in town double the leather up on the shooting fingers. I like a real deep grip and most of the gloves don't go deep enough for my fingers.

Jacobsladder, thanks for that info. Those gloves look like what I had in mind, however, I just hate paying that much for gloves that you don't know if you will like or not. I wish I could find some somewhere that I could try on, but I may just order a pair of those from scdeerskin as well.

Gobbler, I can't really think of anything that I have to trade, off hand, but if you give me some idea of what you would trade for, I will see what I have or can come up with. I am the type of person that keeps everything, but I also really don't have a lot of "Trad" gear, as I only been into it for a couple of years.

I took apair of hunting gloves made for the wheeliguys, and built up the fingers on the inside with mole skin. Work great for me.
