Title: Lam grinder--Hog Thickness Sander
Post by: RAU on December 28, 2007, 04:33:00 PM
Anybody ever use or know anything about this machine.

Looks perfect for grinding lams right? Looks well made too. I wanna get it and then learn to grind tapered lams w/ it. I cant aford to build bows the way I want (lots) without learning to produce decent laminations myself

Construction wise it is a rigid piece of mechanics but the problem I have (IMHO) with these kind of sanders is that you have to feed the lam manually. If your feeding speed is not constant and for whatever reason you stop somewhere during the feed, then it is likely that a "sanding dent" occurs making your lam questionable.
