Mr. Dink,
We got ours from North West Traders. Been using it for several years. Excellent quality!
Best Wishes
You might get in touch with Teresa Asbell (Fred"s wife) she use to make them.
This is a muzzleloader thing. National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association's Muzzle Blasts, Dixie Gunworks catalog, and a bazallion specialty shops have Capotes, many made of Hudson's Bay blanket material, beautifully patterned. Patterns probably substitute nicely for camouflage patterns.
Do an AltaVista advanced search or Clusty search on specific factors.
You might look at muzzleloading magazines' online issues Classified and Display advertising.
Hope this helps.
I have a short "Canoe Style" Capote made from a "Earlys of Witney" English Wool Blanket. I purchased it from Northwest Traders and I am very happy with it. Very well made. I also have a boiled canadian wool "1700s Style Coat" from Flying Canoe that is of excellent quality. I think "Flying Canoe" may also carry Capotes. You may also consider a Blanket Wool Pullover Hunting Shirt if you are looking for more freedom of movement than a Capote offers.
