Pulling 54 lbs. on a recurve cut past center. Would you start with 150's or 250's CE Heritage Shafts? Thanks
Depending on the length of shaft and weight of point, the 150s should be best.
Looking at the charts- with that much weight and I assume a 28" draw - looks like the 250's.
I pull 54# on My Super Kodiak, only a 26" draw so I leave my arrows a little long and shoot the 250's. Upfront I have a 100 grain insert & 100 grain broadhead on the backend 3 four inch shield cut feathers with a helical. That seems to work well for me. Joe
My experience with the CE shafts has shown them to be alittle stiffer than other shafts in the same weight class.I would have to agree with John. Leland
my bow is cut 3/16 past center, about 54 at my 27.5" draw, i use a 28.25" ce 250 with 175 grains in front. bareshafts perfect. the little weights you screw behind the insert make tuning a snap.

Makes you think maybe nobody is right and wrong - it's just personal preference.
Go with the 150's,IMO. I shoot 30.5" 150's from my 54# ChekMate with 200gr tips. They will fly well with as little as 125gr tips but the 200gr up front seem to get the best results. The 250s would require quite a bit more weight up front unless they were near full length.

I agree that the CE are on the stiff side. I shoot 3 curves that are cut past center. Two are #55, the other is #57. I draw to 26.5", my arrows are 27.75" I shoot 100gr tips with 50gr brass inserts, and my shafts are footed with 1" of 2216's (10-11gr).
150's fly perfect for me.
If you get the 150's and they dont work out for you, I'll buy them as long as they are at least 28". But I bet they will work.

I think you are sitting in the catbird's seat and could make either shaft work for you most likely. A 150 short with little weight up front, or a 250 maybe a little long with some internal weights. Just depends on what you want. I shoot 150's out of my 55lb Shrew that I draw to 52lbs. Arrows are 28" long with a 175 tip and slightly weak bareshaft, need to trim another 1/4" off them now. I shoot 250's same length out of my 57 and 59lb bows with a 50grain internal weight and a 200 gr tip for a total of 250gr up front. Arrow weighs 605 grains and makes my bow quiet and will thump the target with authority !!! Since your bow is cut past center you can get by with heavier spine, so why not shoot a heavy 250 that has a high FOC. High FOC carbons are the bomb !

im pulling 53# and shooting the 150's. 125 gr BH and 50 gr brass insert , 31" BOP. total wt 531 grains. shooting like darts. I shoot GT 5575

I shoot 150s out of my bow. 56@26" arrow is one inch past shelf at full draw with 240gr up front. shoots like a dream.. the shafts come a little bit stiff when compared to others.
I would talk to John at Sipsey River and buy individual shafts of each, then you can shootem, before you buy a whole dozen...

I would take your 150s as long as they are 29.5"s long or longer. I shoot a 55# Widow and with 225 up front cut to 30"s it likes the 250s. The 150s with 175 up front also flew perfect. shawn
