Title: Best Self Bow Yet!!
Post by: Scott E on December 26, 2007, 05:46:00 PM
I just finished the final tillering and sanding today. I put about a dozen arrows through her and I cant believe the speed and there isn't any hand shock just a nice bump. I'm happy with it and I'll stain her tonight and post more pics tomarrow.-Scott

here's those full draw pics
I decided to go with minwax natural for stain. It didn't darken the wood as much as I thought it would. I think next time i'll try walnut.

Wow that is one of the best tiller jobs I have seen. Is it a straight bow? What kind of set or string follow did you get? Which type of hickory is that? Fantastic job!

Wow i didn't know the tiller was that good. Getting the thumbs up from someone like jawge makes a new bowyer feel pretty good.   :D  I think i will make a  tiller tree because I'm just getting started this winter its going to be bowmaking madness at my house.   :archer:  i used the tillering gizmo which helped alot.-scott

bmgarto- its a straight bow and i got about 1.5" of string follow. not sure of the type of hickory
