Title: Sky's Christmas
Post by: MW on December 26, 2007, 01:03:00 PM
Skyler has been doing chores for 6 months to try to save for a new bow.  There is nothing like the look on kid's faces in the morning on Christmas and it only gets better when the present is something you enjoy doing together.

Mike at Mad Dog and I got to talking and this is what he came up with.  I turned out beautiful.

It pulls 30# at his 22 draw and can fling an arrow.  Bunnies beware!

Here is Sky trying to look down at his anchor piont.

As I put him to bed last night and asked what he wanted to pray about, all he could talk about was his new bow.  Do you think it can fling an arrow through a bunnie?  What about a grouse?  Can we tune it for Zwickies?  When's the next hunt?

Yea I was smilling.

I know I need to clean but when it is 5 outside we have to move inside.

Sky sometimes pulls the bow left on release.

This kill was from 12 yards.

I'm jealous. Ain't no reason a kid that young needs to be shooting like that.

He has too cuz during the hunt the trash talken starts and he's fair game.

One turkey hunt, my buddy Marc could not hit a barn.  Every time Sky talks to Marc he reminds him of the time he missed 9 turkeys... with a wheelie bow!  Some times he just calls to remind Marc.  All this from a 7 year old.

He shoot with me almost every time I do.

Brent,

I am very blessed.

Sky spends a lot of time doing the things I love to do.  I am very thankful to the mods for keeping this site a safe place to read with kids.  We enjoy reading about the hunts and seeing all the bows.  You all play a part in the raising of a boy to a man and as a father I am greatful for your input.

Vance,

Good to hear from you!  Should have been here for Chrismas eve dinner through Christmas dinner.

Lets just say things got ugly in the food department and I still have a ton of leftovers.  Thats after calling in all the neighbors.  Could have used some help.
