Title: Fast Flight Flemish
Post by: Gurn on December 15, 2007, 10:23:00 PM
I ordered a fast flight flemish string for my sons older, made in Michigan, Bear Kodiak recurve from Three Rivers. Is this going to cause any problems?

DO NOT use Fast Flight on the older Bear bows it will cause damage to the bow, or injury to you, or both....

Gurn,

Deerslayer is correct.  What you could do is have the bow taken to a bowyer who makes fast flight ready bows.  He can replace the the limb tip overlays with a stronger material that will allow for the use of fastflight.   I have had it done myself, it works great.  The limb tip material is what has to be stong enough to keep the string from ripping through into the limbs.
