Sittin in the house llistening to the wind blow. Watching the snow fly. I decided forget this, the kids don't wanna go to the movie 'til later ,so...I went for a walk.
I did take my trusty Red Wing along, wouldn't be right to leave her behind and all.
Anyway, wind was howling, rabbits were bounding ; not a deer in sight. Then who do I see?
Atz right, Mr. Bushy Tail. One Tarantula in the quiver and I missed, barely.
He decides that thing that went by his head weren't no big deal, compared to the walnut he had.
So, I load a 125 G5 and whoosh..first Game Animal with curve. Good thing it was only 9 paces to the tree.

Thanks for the kind words.
I've got a whole list of critters to learn from and Mr. Rat has been a fine teacher.
Anybody got a favorite way to umm; cook him?
Fried and covered in gravy gets my vote...
I think that may be a P&Y squirrel. :-D

Nice squirrel, BUT, you said something about "Snow flying" ?????
As for cookin that thar tree rat, you jes cant beat squirrel and grits!!!!!!!! :goldtooth:
BrokenArrow, the snow was just flurries. Cold,SW wind 20-25 and dry dime size ,no stick 'fliers'..
I like them smothered in biscuits and gravy. :saywhat: I also like them in dumplins. :jumper:
I was just wondering, I did photography for years (30) it's that detail and stuff in my eyes, I am also from Northern Indiana, Michigan city, and we have that lake effect, and that's when you really get snow !
Enjoy the squirrel !
I remember hunting them in the river bottom when I was a kid, on a farm in southwestern Michigan. 10 years old with a stick & a string.
