Got laid off from my job today. They laid off 7 of 20 reps at our branch. There were layoffs company wide. Please pray for me and my family and all those who lost their job today. We were already barely getting by...
He was already taking care of us before we knew this would happen. A couple of weeks ago my neighbor, a mortgage broker, asked if I wanted to refi. We closed on it Thursday when I had no idea this was coming. So we get to skip the July mortgage pmt and will get a little cash back from our escrow account.
Honestly, don't know how we are going to get by...just trusting he will provide.

Amen! He will provide brother! I am agreeing with you in prayer. He alone is faithful!!
-
-
I know he will provide, but I can't even get recruiters to give me the time of day. 49 years old and a lot of recent job changes.
-
Feeling like a total failure as the provider for my family. If we make it through this without losing our house and much more, it will be nothing short of a miracle!
-
We only fail when we allow circumstances to get our eyes off of Him. Be encouraged brother, the miraculous is common place for our God, take comfort in what He can do...

What Mike said, Hooked. I was in the same boat but a decade or two older... Was hired for a big job, traveled to it extensively, then week before THEY moved ME, I got a call they reorganized and eliminated my new job! I had to sue to get them to anti-up the travel costs they had me make.
That repeated itself from early 50's on thru early retirement...I retired early off of UNEMPLOYMENT...couldn't stand it any more.
The fact you "burned out" on your wood burning and just got back to it may be a blessing of sorts...
Uncle Obie is giving away lots of goodies to the unemployed. i read that in one City, folks were asking for less hours as the higher new town Minimum Wage was putting them into a higher income bracket so they were loosing their housing subsidy!
God is faithful and this may just be more time in the desert to test how great is your faith. His love is greater then your problem, but we have to believe to reap. That's where I fall on my snoz at times
Forecast: God Reins, the Son Shines. Keep the Son in your eyes!

Amen to Doc's words and prayers for God's provision and promises to be fulfilled for you and your family. BTW it's not your fault they let you so don't get down on yourself and don't let the devil lie to you. You ARE a good provider. Now you need to provide guidance and an example of a faith filled man.

Prayers sent. Remember when one door closes..... Try to stay positive and believe in Gods Will. Hopefully this will be a blessing in the end.

I have been there also. I lost my job, my house, my vehicles, my savings account and even my faith (what little faith I had back then) after a bad auto accident. I started feeling the same way as you but, that feeling quickly turned to loathing and anger. I spent the next 3 years in physical therapy 6 days a week. I was newly married (approx 3 weeks) at the time of the accident and thank God, my wife never lost faith and never gave up on me. I hit rock bottom but, God was there waiting on me to come to my senses. I surrendered my entire life at that point and I came to understand the truth of the matter which is, God is the provider and he will provide if we allow him to do so. Every good thing we have comes from Him. I realized I wasn't a failure as a provider but, I had been failing as the spiritual leader of my household. As soon as I came to that realization, and put it back in God's hands where it should have been all along, everything in my life turned around and i ended up in a place I could have never imagined.
Sorry to be so long winded but, I wanted you to know, you're not alone in this. Keep your focus on God and remember, as I have had to do this last week, the sacrifice of Christ redeems and those who accept that gift become children of the living God. God takes care of his children. Check out Jeremiah 29:11 and Matthew 6:25-34.
We'll keep you in our prayers.
Stay focused.
Tom

It will be tough, but hang onto your faith and let God help you sort it out.

AMEN TKO!!!

Thanks for all the encouragement! Next few days will determine a lot.
Have until Wednesday to decide if I want to sign the severance package. The problem with it is a noncompete is attached that would mean I couldn't work in the same industry for one year. I don't believe it is enforceable, but I would have to be hired by a company willing to fight it if they tried to enforce it.
Also will be meeting with two direct competitors over the next two days. Hope to get on with one of them. Please pray whatever happens it will be apparent what his will is!

Amen! Praying God opens a door since a window was closed. Praying that His wisdom leads you with His perfect peace.

prayers up. heard it said God doesn't care what we do as long as we're serving him. you will find that, i'm sure

True, Doc! But t I have always believed he gave us certain talents and the ultimate goal is to figure out those talents and use them to fullest. Part of me believes I have never figured this out and I keep getting laid off or changing jobs because I am not where I am supposed to be. I feel like he has been trying to point me in the right direction but I am just to deaf, dumb, and/or blind to see it. Or maybe I have seen but was not brave enough to do it.

Thanks for the prayers everyone! Things have moved pretty quick, though it didn't seem so at the time. Had an interview last Tuesday, was offered a job last Thursday, and started this past Wednesday.
Now some prayers of praise would be appropriate!!!!
