I'd had several of you pray for the offer on the house and that went well--thank you. I've been blessed in small ways up to this point... and I thank you for your prayers for things and my peace.
Now there are "admininstrivia" issues looming on the closing...which is / was scheduled for the 10th or 13th, sent overnight to me, sign and back over night and then the truck and paid truck loaders are here the 16th, I roll out with a friend behind me the 17th for TN, the truck rolls in with 12 people behind to unload the 18th, and now we're being hung up by this goofy stuff...
No way I can change all this stuff...move out date set, all sorts of irreversible things in motion. Being so far away, it's unsettling to be sure,
I could use a few prayers for "personal peace" and also for things to get moving and back on course.
I'm indebted... and thank you!

Amen Praying God tear down any barriers that satan tries to through in the way. Father God I've had the same thing happen when moving on your plans. Everything is falling into place and satan tries to derail it and get me stressed out. I know Dave is feeling the stress so I ask that you kick the evil one out of the way. In the name of Him who you have given all authority, Jesus.

 Amen

Thank you guys...chokes me up a touch to read your kind words. Much appreciated.
The realtor and mortgage lady tell me to "breath deep, we got this"... we'll see...
But He does...if He so chooses to smile on me some more...some wrinkles got ironed out that totally amazed me...
oh me of little faith... :o
-
Dave! Hey Bud, this is what you have wanted for a long time. Let it happen. Change is always uncomfortable and I pray your transition goes as well as Possible. I know its easier said than done but it sounds as if you have a great handle and outlook on things. Ducks are in a row....let em walk.
-
Thanks, Charlie. Headed to bed!
I have another week to press and keep packing. I've not even started on the kitchen and I have a running ton of kitchen stuff...
Too much of everything or too many hobbies perhaps?
Trouble is that the stuff I invested in is way better built, being older, than today's products, so dumping and starting over is not an option!
Getting thru this ordeal here with the "rental mgmt" yahoos will be another level of angst...then counting on all going well enough down there to move in on time!
Funny...no matter how much one works hard or coordinates to their best abilities, in the end, most of the situations in life are totally out of our control!
Maybe that is how God wants it, eh??? :)
-
Let's send 'em up folks, there's been no greater "prayer warrior" on this site than Dave for many years. This is the most important forum on this site and he has been an inspiration to hundreds here while going through his own trials.

Thank you, Gentlemen... Those who post and the many I know who do not.
Thru God's grace, I was able to make nice on the phone with my current realty mgmt people about their hoop jumping... Thank you, Lord!
They come Wednesday... the first time...
No word over the weekend on things down in TN, but Lord willing, it will all come together on time!
thank you to each and all for your prayers, strength infused into me thru it, and the kind words I likely do not deserve...but will try to live up to them!
Shalom...

Doc,
I hope the meeting with the realtors went well and you are one step closer to making that move. My brother lives down close to Memphis, lots of deer down there.
Take care of yourself and I am praying for a smooth transition for you.
Good Shooting,
Craig

the kind words I likely do not deserve...but will try to live up to them!
Come on Doc quit shoulding on yourself. We love you for who you are not what you do.
-
Thanks, Craig. Things keep getting more and more interesting... all sorts of hiccups on a small sliver of land I negotiated to have added to mine, so as to NOT have my property line run on a diagonal within 19' of the corner of my house... but there is new meat at the local planning board who is upsetting the apple cart. Getting convoluted.
Galen,
You make me laugh! I used that "don't should on yourself" line in all my Supervisory and Management Development training sessions.
These past few days, everyone seems to be spitting in my Kool-aide and I'm not feeling the love that much...so THANK YOU!
-
Hey Doc, Still thinking about you and your situation. I hope the waves turn to ripples and eventually smooth out to glass. Just remember, some of the best fishing is bumpy water.
5 Foot seas, made me queezy but I filled my cooler. ;)

Thanks, ALL!!!
Thursday and Friday were meat grinders, but God listened to ya'll!
Friday ended better. Got to talk to the movers who are to professionally load our borrowed big box truck, to tie everything together this coming Thursday... they had a neat plan that buoyed my spirits for this Thursday.
Now to get DRY weather... stuff will be in that truck (antique furniture, etc) for several days till removed in TN, so dry would be special!!!
Next, I'd started the process to set up for termination of utilities. The natural gas vendor said they'd come in to turn OFF the fuel. This is a rental and I intended to vacate a full week early to give them time to do much needed upgrades after 7 yrs and no maintenance. So I call the property mgmt people to suggest they call to put the gas in their name to not lose heat and have to be here to have it turned back on...they try to snow me it has to be maintained till the end of the month. I pointed out this wasn't my first rodeo and no way was I providing utilities for their workmen to abuse. My vacating was for their benefit to do work in advance to have the unit ready Nov 1 and they either change the name over to theirs OR..it's turned off inside and they can come sit and wait all day for the workmen to return. Friday afternoon they called to say they had it set to be put in their name the 24th.
Couple small coups! But I figured the Lord was showing me to walk in faith. Still don't trust these dogs, but will check on them when I get back to clean to be sure...
Lots of odds and ends sitting around that need my attention yet... but I still have to be here so I hesitate to pack it all... lol
This is where a partner helps that can point out errors in thinking!
Thanks for prayers! Someone up there is listening I think! :)

Doc,
I know this is the week when all "Heck" breaks loose for ya and just wanted you to know I'm praying for a safe trip and all the land settlements will come to an end soon and you can relax a bit..I'll be out of town at the end of the week heading to PA.and will be thinking of you..I'll be with my kids and the wife so you be safe traveling and getting settled in and hope to hear from you when you get things worked out at your New home..It will get easier and this time next year Lord willing you will be talking about your new hunting areas instead of this move..  God Bless YA Brother!
Keefer's <")))><

Thanks, Keith. You've been a true friend I've never met, along with many others scattered to the four corners of this great land of ours!
The surveying won't happen. Planning Group is going to make this .13 acre sliver go thru hoops, so we're settling on the original property with a binding contract for the additional to be added No Charge... I want it rolled back into MY deed, not two for such a tiny bit.
Getting it all (this drivel I've accumulated even though I've given away a lot, throw out more and had 2 yard sales) into the box truck will be my next goal! In DRY weather. :)
I don't want much. :) :)
We go down for closing on Friday with a whole 30 min to spare "in case"... and then Sat Noon the truck shows and we unload...one day to unpack essentials, then Monday off to sign up for water and electric (must be done in person there) and then back on the road home to clean up this hovel.
Move out inspection the 24th and then Hasta, Baby!
Likely stay with friends around here and then head out Sat or Sun and start to settle in... get vehicles registered down there, buy washer /dryer, start the UN-packing, find a trash hauler to pick up weekly, etc, etc...find docs and such. I think I'll be busy nuff that first month or so...
Next year? Shoot, Keith, that starts in just a few short months! LOL... maybe I'll be able to turkey hunt come spring??
-
Doc, prayers sent daily for all your concerns. I sure hated our moving process 24 years ago, but it sure was worth it!
-
Best of Luck, Dave. Prayers go with you. It will all fall in to place.
-
Thanks, guys! Pouring rain all day here, hope it clears out overnight so not raining tomorrow to load!
Walkin in faith right now...But still appreciate the prayers!
-
As you have prayed for me. So now I you.
Faith is the only way to live and please the Father.
-
Lord Please watch over Doc as he travels and give him peace of mind that all is being cared for by you...
Doc I will continue to keep you in my prayers as we travel today to PA. for a few days so I'll check to see how you made out on Monday ..God Bless and be with you Brother!
Keefers <")))><

Pick it up and GO! You know HE watches our every move and guides our every step.

Trusting you are now a resident of TN.now Doc..I was thinking about you when I was in Pa. this past Sat.and went to a store called Weavers and as I rounded the corner I saw this fella with a thick mustache and I said good morning to him and he back..I then thought Is that Doc.Nock? It sure does look like the fella that I see in the avatar pic but I never met him in person..I saw him get on a motorcycle and leave the parking lot and thought it can't be Doc.cause I don't think he ever talked about motorbikes..But I was thinking and praying that your move went well..
-
Move went well.
Thanks to all for prayers!
We left Friday, my best friend's widow followed me in her car and me in my F150 loaded to the gills!
Off we went... drove hard all day from 6:15A to 3:30pm we rolled into the settlement place parking lot... I was whupped... that ole F150 and I have never sustained 70-80MPH for so long... whew.
Settlement went without a hitch... so far. There is a section (sliver) of land to be surveyed and deeded to my plot, but due to some admin changes in the county it has to go thru the board, so it will be done up separate.
BOX Truck arrived Sat... only 4 of the 12 people promised showed, so my friend and I, both somewhat long in tooth, ended up humping boxes all day along with trying to direct traffic of the 3 of 4 who actually helped measurably. And boy did they work...
My friend and I got dishes unpacked and washed up Sunday, living and bedroom set up, but the rest? WEll, it looks like a grenade went off elsewhere in the house. Buttoned up Mon. I left my truck there and drove back w/ my friend, so I can clean and get my move out inspection this week. Then drive back this weekend for good!
Might be a while till I'm back on here as I don't know what ISP I can get or want down there.
Cheers to all and thanks for all the prayers. God was faithful!
-
Praise God the move is happening and prayers for God's had in keeping the road free of rough spots
-
Thanks, folks, And Galen, too!
Things are moving slowly in progress back here at the home 40 with the calendar racing toward friday's D-DAY.
I keep pushing... hopefully, this will pan out as well as all the rest of the move...
Had I had more "faith" I could have avoided some of THIS stress, but putting more of this drivel in the truck, but with the store room to go, I hesitated... then there was plenty of room left and now I'm got a full car plus!!! LOL
oh, ye of little faith... :knothead:
-
Well you won't feel guilty passing up hitch hikers ;)
-
Lol, Galen... Especially after a few joke emails on the subject of hitchhikers lately...thanks to all for your prayers.
-
Hope all works out well for you , enjoy your new place!
-
Thanks, Ron. Plenty of hiccups to remind me I am not in charge, but slowly things will come together...I trust

Worst part of this relocation is no internet yet..things move powerfully slower here. Friend called and said someone posted on Pw inquiring where I'd been: how wonderful to be 'missed'. Thanks to all for continued prayers. Finally gotnheat system working properly...big blessing. Now to finish last of 'old people' insurance and find good GP.

FINALLY! I got internet today. Feel free to ping me...
Be nice to reconnect with all you good folks. Thanks for all the prayers...we're not out of the woods yet, but gaining ground on stability...just trying to figure how I moved t his far south for 17* weather?!
-
You packed the weather too???? You were supposed to leave that back in PA
Glad you're up and running.
-
Good one, Galen!
Sure enough left a lot of stuff behind...but packed the weather...seems like it! LOL.
Thanks to all for prayers thru this move. Things happened far better than they may have...
Praise to Him for that and to my brothers who prayed on my behalf!
-
Glad to hear that things are coming along for you. Continued thoughts and prayers throughout the transition. God Bless.
-
So glad for you to finally have what you have dreamed about for a long time. May you enjoy it and peace for a long long time.
-
Thanks, AL,
Thanks, Charlie...
I KNOW where you're coming from, Charlie...and it saddens me that with all your lovely set ups there, you've hit so many personal health challenges!
They're starting t o mount up here... finding good docs, hernia I need advice on before I get to doing too much more lifting like I've been moving... stuff like that.
My one goal to save money living on SS is working ok... lots to learn on shopping locally as things seem a bit more pricey in stores... take a while to find what I knew off the beaten path back in PA...I was hooked up!
Nice to have quiet here... not the screaming kids who moved in next door in the apt. Bit intimidating to have to maintain the place, but the landlords did a precious lousy job of it so I can't do worse...
Once I learn the outdoors here and can fish and hunt, I be livin in tall cotton, Hoss!
Thanks to all for the past prayers, well wishes and good vibes!

The Power of Pio, Padre Pio, Saint Pio of Pietralciena. I pray to him daily to grant intercessions for those in need. May God Bless you on your new path in life.

Prayers for my own Christian Growth thru God's influence that I might know Peace and come to offer ongoing THANKS for the many blessings instead of focusing on my many challenges in this new land and circumstances.
May all the prayers warriors here, know His Peace and have a true day of THANKSGIVING, for all our collective and individual blessings, and for our challenges that make us more aware of the price our salvation cost our Lord.
