Title: retirement over
Post by: Dirty Bill on December 21, 2007, 05:59:00 PM
As of today,I am officially out of bowhunting retirement. 1995 was my last season of bowhunting, due to a car wreck. For about 3 years an old buddy of mine has been trying to go back out.

I went with him last monday, had deer close enough to shoot, but no shot. Today we went out and they drove two deer past me from behind. They were running flat out,I was kneeling on the ground behind some brush..

I locked on the second one,and let the arrow go at full draw. It hit the deer,it was about 35 yards when I released, and it was down in less than 150 yards.(gotta love them snuffers). It turned out to be a button buck, which was ok because I had to shoot an antlerless deer first anyway.

I herby declare my rededication to traditional bowhunting.          :campfire:

Welcome back to the field Bill. Glad to hear that you have slain your dragon.

Sounds like you didn't get a bit rusty during your down time either. Nice shot!

Bill, glad to hear you had so much fun. Really regret that I haven't been up to snuff to go along with you. If you think you're having fun now wait till summer and we start carp shooting. I know for a fact that Lee has got as much enjoyment out of this as you have. We all owe that man soo much. He is a great person and a wonderful man. People don't realize how much work and effort he puts into doing these deer hunts.

Looking foward to hunting with you.  Brokenwing

Hey John,Get better man. Lee says it's the chemicals you work with? Any way I owe Lee more than he'll ever know. I've been replaying he two hunts in my head over and over...I keep...   :bigsmyl:   So you get better and we'll make some more hunting memories. Dirty Bill   :campfire:
