It is with a humble heart that I come here and ask for you prayer warriors to please include me in your prayers.
I woke this morning and there is a large lump in the center of my throut on my Adams apple and it is painful. It formed overnight and I am really scared.
I am taking off work at 08:00 and going to Naval Hospital to try and see my doctor. Please pray that it is not cancer and that God heals me.
Thank you,
Danny

Thank you all, please continue to pray. I go in Saturday to get a picture taken to try and see what it is. Possibly on my thyroid, not sure yet. I am so frustrated with the Naval Hospital, went there the day I found the lump and got no help. Glad now that I have insurance through my job, saw my Dr. yesterday and getting something started right away, the Navy said that anything related to xray or what ever is for active duty personnel and that they would have to refer me out and make me use TRICARE, what a joke, with them I have to pay 25% of the cost, with my insurance $20. Shame that I gave over 21 years to the Navy serving my country with distinction and now they treat me like this.
Sorry for the rant, again, thank you for the prayers and please continue to pray.
-
Prayers of strength and healing for you!
-
Danny,
Same story with our own Dr. Ed AShby...when he blew out his spinal chord or whatever in Australia...all out of pocket till he got here and waited MONTHS for a referral and eventual spinal surgery...and lost a lot of use due to the delay.
Glad you have private insurance!
Prayers for a great prognosis!

Ultrasound inconclusive, being referred for a CT scan. Thank you for your continued prayers.
-
Well, there is some good news in that USound result...if it were the worst case, something would likely show.
Prayers for continued negative results on tests and perhaps that Thyroid, a most treatable, if not vexing problem, be the culprit.
Only God knows and He has you covered in Love.

Danny, best wishes for a complete recovery, and thank you for your service on this Veterans Day. It is not just you, but all retirees, by brother was in the Air Force for 25 yrs., and has experienced similar problems. God bless, get well soon.
-
Thank you all for your continued prayers. Ultra Sound showed some possible problems on my thyroid not related to the lump. Fine needle asperations are in order for the two "spots" then CT scans. Not looking forward to the fine needle, have had that before on a lympth node and it was not pleasent.

Danny,

Praying for a treatable outcome and reasonable alternatives for treatment!

Danny, prayers sent. Hang tuff Chief..........
-
Let's all pray this lump away. Hang in there Mr Rowan.

I will be praying for you as well. Sometimes the worst thing about something like this is what our minds have us to beleive. We tell everybody that we're not worried but when we are alone it consumes our every thought. I have lived that just here resently. I pray for your peace of mind as well as healing in this problem.......Dusty

Thank you all for your prayers, Please continue. Had the first round of fine needle biopsy on the larger node on my thyroid yesterday, went ok, not as bad as the other I had years ago on a lympth node, at least they gave me a shot of lanacain. Will not know the reseults for 7 to 10 days and then they have to do the smaller node. But that ain't gonna happen until mid Jan cause I am not canceling my annual hunting trip to Texas, I leave Monday for that, continued prayers will be appreciated.

Hang tough buddy prayers for you.<><

Danny.....still praying for you. Have a great Texas hunt! Will be praying for safe travel.
-
Danny,
I will definitely be praying for you, but strangely enough, that sudden, painful type of swelling and inflammation is usually not what is the most dangerous as long as it doesn't have immediate, catastrophic effects. The things you would dread having the most, like cancer, grow much more slowly and are painless until much later in the progression of the disease. I know from personal experience what stage 4 neck cancer feels like, and it really didn't hurt, although the treatment sure did. Problems like you are having are VERY SCARY, and it would be nice to find out immediately what is causing that lump so you could put your mind more at ease instead of thinking of all the really bad things it might be. I could easily be wrong, but I suspect your problem will be something that is not as severe as you might imagine and will be very treatable.
I wish I were going to be able to see you at Solana instead of getting my knee cut on. At least being laid up for awhile will give me a chance to put in a lot of prayer time, and you will definitely be in my prayers. God bless you Danny.
Allan

Good luck hunting, bro!
May peace be your companion.
May you feel Christ's presence to be felt till and after you know for sure!
-
Danny you are always on my prayers.Enjoy your vacation in Texas you need a brake.
-
Still praying for you. Stuff that comes on fast like that is usually nothing serious.
The vast majority of the stuff we spend time worrying about doesn't turn out like we imagine, amounts to nothing most times or nothing near as bad as we imagined. So relax and enjoy your trip.
-
my prayers are with you danny. i pray they don't find anything wrong , that GOD will cure you before the test are even in. good luck hunting, it's been so cold here in ohio i've turned into a fair weather hunter. show us some pictures we can enjoy in our warm house. maybe this will be a time you can enjoy the things GOD has blessed us with to help keep your mind off your situation. GOD LOVES YOU AND SO DO WE!

Danny,
Whenever you hear more, please let us know. We are praying for you and desperately want to hear that you are healing.

Prayers up for you Danny !!

Danny,
I hope all things are going well.

First biopsy on left side of thyroid showed benign goiter. Just had the biopsy on right side, waiting on results. The lump in the center of my throut went almost away and is now back, again almost over night and is larger and a bit painful. The ultra sound was unconclusive, they basicaly did not know what it is, it is under the skin and above my vocal cords, when I streach my neck it is painful, feels like it is attached to my lyrnix sorta. I am still very worried and just want this taken care of. Please send prayers to lift me up as I am very down right now, so down I cannot even get motivated to get excited about my new Brack, or even shoot it.
-
Hi Danny!
Been away from this forum for awhile and just read your posts.
Hang in there buddy. I'll be praying for peace while you await results, strength to get through this and guidance for the medical staff as they figure this whole thing out.
God Bless!
-
Danny,
Take heed from your brother's delemmas and they were plenty, but he kept faith. You must too!
I find as I age, I've learned I also "fret & worry" over things---but have channeled that into things that there is some feint chance I can control the outcome.
Health isn't one of those except preventatively.
Whatever this is, God's in charge. Live like your prayers have been answered I once heard a preacher say...
Hard to do and I'm no better than anyone else, but it IS sound advice.
Grab that bow and go shoot as long as your not pulling that neck and making it hurt... no sense aggrevating whatever is wrong till you know more.
No way I'm minimizing the potential seriousness of this, or how concerning it has to be to you...I'm just encouraging you to grab life NOW and enjoy it daily and let major medical issues to God and the docs!
Keep the Son in your eyes, Danny!
-
Danny,
Still praying for you. Take that Brack out and see how she shoots. That will put a smile on your face.
-
You have an army of people praying for you, keep your faith in the Lord.
Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Well second biopsy is done and it is not cancer, same as other side, begnine goiter. Now for the CT scan for the lump in the center. Please continue with your prayers they are greatly appreciated.
-
Danny,
Take a Deep Breath and exhale a prayer of thanks for the right side, left side! That is grand news!
I know you're waiting for the other shoe to drop, but hey... with this batting average, let's assume our prayers are already answered and you're fine and they'll snatch out that ole fatty tumor or whatever and you can use it for target practice!
Praises for good reports and for the next one to be the same!!!
Keep the Son in your eyes!

Thankful to hear that the sides are benign. Prayers continue for a healthful resolution to it all.

CT scan results show no cancer. Supposedly there is a vein and an artery in the center of my neck very close together and they are not supposed to be there. Getting the results on a cd and the written report of the CT and the two biopsys of the thyroid goiters and taking them to my Navy doc for a second opinion. My only concern at this point is why I get the lump swelling in the center of my throut if it is only a vein and artery, why should it swell???? Only reason a vein or artery would swell up and cause a lump is a blockage so need to have that looked at, do not need a blood clot. Thank you for your prayers and please continue to pray for a good resolution.

Thank you everyone, your prayers are calming me. I hate to keep asking but have a new maladay. I have a lot of pain in my jaw area, it at first seemed to be my ear and sinus but now I do not know. It has been going on for a week and at times the pain is unbearable. Have been to the clinic twice, once last week and was diagnosed as sinus as they took an xray of my sinus and said they were 3/4 full of fluid, gave me flonase and a steroid pill. Did not really help but the pain went away. Stopped the steroid pills because they made my blood sugar skyrocket, one of the side affects. One week later, yesterday, the pain became so bad I had to leave work early and go to the clinic, worst pain I have ever had. CT scan of brain and sinus showed nothing, no fever, just unbearable pain, was given tylenol #3 for the pain and it helps some but does not aleviate the pain entirely. Gonna try and see a Navy doc today I think I really need to see an ENT doc but none in the local area, hopefully in Naval hospital. Please pray that God gives me the strength to endure this pain. I swear it was so bad yesterday that I really wanted to die to get it overwith, I know that is wrong and have never felt that way before. Give me strength Lord and ease this suffering.

Matt 8:17 believe it and Mark 11:24 receive it.

Praise God. As I orginally thought, ear/sinus infection. Got started on some amoxicilin and already much better after three pills, have not had to take any pain meds so far today. Think I am gonna change clinics. Navy doc said he was puzzled why the outside clinic gave me steroids.
Now just waiting to see my Navy doc about my throut. I see him on the 2nd of May.
-
Alright! Prayers continue.
-
Bout time you got some A-1 medical care. Glad the Navy came thru for you, bro!
Nuff of this worry and sufferin! Let's get that other thing resolved along with this infection thing and get you doing what you do best!

Praying for ya.......Danny.
I'm not a doctor, but most likely they prescribed you the steroids to fight the inflammation. It is a powerful anti-inflamatory drug. That being said, one should monitor their sugar levels VERY CLOSELY while taking them because they do raise your blood sugar significantly.

Well, saw the Navy ENT and the prognosis is nothing to be done. The lump cannot be felt and he does not want to do surgury to look for a needle in a haystack. He told me that if it swells again to come in immediatly so he can look at it. As for the goiters, yearly check on them. The Lord is great. and thank you all for all of your prayers.

Praise God and prayers for continued blessings
