Title: got the widow tuned!
Post by: rappstar on December 19, 2007, 08:23:00 PM
bought some 65#-70# arrows from badger arrows.  they were the only ones i could find that would fletch with the banana feathers!  they were also kind enough to send me one bare shaft with nock.  they also sent me some 125 grain points and 145 grain points!

started nock left and cut the arrow down to 30" and it was then nock right.  i took off the 125 grain point and mounted a 145 grain point.  Straight as an arrow!

so now i guess i can start mounting some points on the fletched arrows.  i assume i could lenthen the arrow to 30.5" to mount a 134 grain obsidian point and feel pretty good that it will fly well?  Of course, if the point is mounted straight....

My dad once sent me over to the neighbors for the "board" stretcher, after I forgot to measure twice and cut once....I was unaware there was an arrow stretcher as well....

Arrow stretchers come from the same store that sells left handed monkey wrenches

I've been to that store!!!

that's where I got my metric screw driver set and a waterpump for my 1952 VW bug. Didn't see any arrow or board stretchers though.

Maybe you could find that arrow strecher from the same USMC supply Sgt. that has shoulder holsters for the 106mm recoiless rifle.
The day I was sent to him he was "out of stock".
Oh to be young and naive agian.
