hello!....Can anyone here give Me any feedback/info on Wallace Mt. Longbows, out of Marietta, Ohio??...I saw one once, it looked to be a mild reflex-deflex, and looked extremely well made...Any info such as how these bows shoot, price, delivery times, etc..etc.. will be greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance..Harpman
I shot his personal bow at Cloverdale this year, awesome bows, shoot very nice, smooth draw, easy pointing and very very little handshock. I think his prices start at like 500-525.00 for basic bows and the skys the limit if you want to pay. His bow had the prettiest antler tips Ive ever seen, they looked like they were part of the limb they blended so perfectly and were translucent in color. Hes a very nice guy, talked to him for about 20 min. while shooting his bow. They are some of the sharpest 1 piece longbows Ive ever seen, hes also a excellent shot, was shooting better at 55 yds then most guys do at 20...
I just stopped by to talk to him tonight but he wasn't home. I don't know how many bows he has to make right now but he is usually pretty prompt or will have them done when he tells you. The bows are top of the line and flawless. They are a mild reflex/deflex but more toward a Howard Hill kind of bow. I like the way they shoot and about everybody at our club has one. The price was at $450.00 but you can add different things to it if you wanted. He will work with you any way he can. Some of the absolutely best made longbows you will find. His finish is totally flawless and the work is a thing of beauty. I own two, a buddy has six! My antler limb tips are incredibly well formed. Dave does most of the work with hand tools and has the best bow to bow consistency I have ever seen. I'll second everything that was said above. I shot with Dave a few times, he's as good a bow shot as he is a bowyer! His limb tips are nothing but a thing of beauty! He made me one this past spring. Only took him about 6 weeks to get it to me if I remember correctly. If you want a Hill style longbow, you really can't go wrong with one of his.
