On March 14, at 6:29p.m. eastern, Andrew Joshua Bolin arrived! He was delivered via c-section at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville and Andrew and his mom, Alicia are doing well. Despite the av block and being born 2 months early, he is not on oxygen and his heart rate is stable. Originally, the docs had planned to put in a pacemaker at birth, but they say he will be going home without one. He is a little fellar, just 3lbs. and 13oz. and 15 1/2" long, but he is quite handsome! Praise be to God and special thanks to you all for your prayers. The Ped. cardiologist calls him a "prayer baby"! Keep the prayers flowing as there is still a long way to go. I will be driving back to IN this evening and then to Nashville and back to IN on Monday, so prayer for traveling mercies would be helpful for old Grandpa! God Bless, Mike

You've got it... you see what the Lord's doing in Hooked's baby Garrett's life and we pray God will visit the same healing and mercy on your li'l Andrew.

Congrats on the new guy!! My wife is a nicu nurse and the amazing stories I hear from Her on how these special children fight and survive is unbelievable.
My own Son was born a month early and was barely over 4 lbs. 21 years later he is 5'11" and 225 lbs so don't let the small start fool You. Have a safe journey. bretto

Mike. I am always in aw to what Medical Science has achieved and how strong Gods "little one's" actually are. Doctors and treatments have come a long ways in the past 20 years or so. You know as well as I do that God had to have his hand in this birth. Your little one has Gods eyes on him and his mother. God bless to every one in your family and take care. Dave from Nove Scotia

Just got in from TN again! Andrew is progressing better than the doc's thought possible! He has already regained and surpassed his birth weight! He is eating thru a feeding tube, which they tell us is normal for a "preemie", as they don't gain the coordination to nurse until 34-37 weeks. Thanks to all for the prayers and keep 'em comin"!! God Bless, Mike

Kids will add perspective to life.
Continued prayer!

Great news, Mike! Your entire family is in our prayers....Don and Skyler

It just don't get any better. My wife is an OB nurse so when the grand kids are born I have inside info. I have a woman that knits and makes newborn cammo hats.I buy them and then slip them in to the nursery. When the baby is presented to the family he/she is wearing their first cammo . Man the tears flow heavy as everyone knows what gramps is up to.

How's he doing Mike?
-
Well, everything is going well for Andrew! On Wednesday, he took half a bottle.....apparently he doesn't know that he isn't supposed to do that yet! My son sent me a text message today and said that the doctors have "popped the top" on the incubator as his body temp. is staying where it should without it! This boy is truly a "prayer baby", because thru God's grace and the power of prayer, Andrew not only made it thru birth, but he is thriving! He is covered in God's grace and my family is truly blessed. We are also blessed by the prayers and we hope they will continue as Andrew grows and faces more "bumps in the road" of life. Many thanks and God's blessings to all! Mike

Thought I'd let you all know that Andrew is home and doing quite well! He is up to 5# from his birth weight of 3# 13 oz. That is in a little less that three weeks! God is really looking after this little one. I am taking a day off tomorrow and the wife and I are driving down to Nashville to visit the "little man". He still has a long way to go, but his heart is doing well and he is growing much faster than expected. To put his weight gain in perspective, it would be like me gaining 72# in the past 3 weeks! Prayers for Andrew's continued growth and health and for traveling mercies for the wife and I. Thanks to all and God Bless! Mike

Great news! Glad you are going to see Andrew. Need a pic or 2 when ya get back from the visit.

I had to go back and search this out to recall the whole story with Mike's update...
And it warmed my heart all the more to relive the beginnings of this story, so I thought I'd bring it up where others could share in it easily... to see how Good our Lord has been to li'l Andrew in lo' these short months!
Thank you, Jesus!
