Title: Prayers for Gordy Mickens & family Selway Archery

Gordy's daughter Jodi passed this morning from an apparent self- inflicted gunshot. Jodi worked for Selway making many of the quivers that are so popular in traditional archery. I knew Jodi. She was young, attractive and friendly.

I can't imagine the devastation the Mickens family must be feeling and I'm sure our prayers are greatly needed at this time.

Thats terrible news....sad indeed. A great loss to the Trad Community.

I feel bad for Gordy and his family.

This news hasn't been posted to my knowledge. We got a call early this morning from Jodi's best friend who was headed to the hospital. She called a short while ago to tell us Jodi didn't make it.

I'm so sorry and feel even worse that she felt all her choices had disappeared, but this one. Tragic for everyone.

What "anoited" and "Archer2" said...

We never know when someone around us...hurts in ways we can not know...Slow us down Lord enough to sense those needs and reach out. Be with those affected most that they don't beat themselves but help them grow in spirit and faith.

We ask,Lord that You undergird this family and give them something to grasp unto,something to show them that you are still in control,no matter how downcast and grave the situation.We also ask oh, Lord that if there is one standing in the valley of pain,or confusion,or lonliness,or hopelessness,or whatever the old devil would use to seperate us from you,we ask that you would see fit in your infinate wisdom to lift that soul out of the pits that so oft surround us in our daily strife,show them a better way thru the love and compassion of you and your self-sacrificing SON Jesus CHrist,let the downcast find hope,and peace like naver before,and contemplate what is worth living for,and disregard those stumbling blocks in our paths that so easily beset us,Lord we commit this persons soul unto you,for you the ALL MIGHTY are STILL ON THE THRONE!!!!!
