As some of you may remember,I was blessed with the custody of my 'lil girl about this time last year. The trials of the fight to get her really took alot out of us as a family but prayers from my friends here and elsewhere really helped. Thank you.
Taking my daughter into our home left us with some logistical issues, especially as I am a Navy Reservist. Should I get mobilized we would be in a real pickle as we have no family close by to help with her care and my wife is an RN who works crazy shifts.
That having been said,we had felt the Lord calling us back home where all of my family are for sometime. But because I have a fairly lucrative job here,we stayed. We have decided to submit to God's will and return home.
As excited as we are,we are still very frightened about the prospect of me leaving a very secure fed. gov. career of 12 years to pursue work in an entirely different field for alot less money. It's scary. Couple this with the fact that when we decided to move we were well into a home re-modeling project,so the work load in getting our home ready for sell is about3 fold what it would've been normally.Alot going on at the House of Proffitt.
Could really use some prayers.
Thanks all.

Aaron,I'll just give you my 2 cents. If the lord saw it,and you fitting to allow the addition of your daughter into your life as a more permanant fixture,I am sure with your permitting him to remain the captain of your ship,he will UNDOUBTABLY give/direct you and yours on a path toward His will. Not saying there are not going to be storms on the sea,but without the clouds and rain, tell me, do we REALLY appreciate the..SON!! May God bless you and your submission to the Master!!! (read proverbs 3:5-6) God bless,Brad

Amen and prayers sent. May you be able to hear His small still voice.

Trying to honor Benbows'comment is my biggest trial...amidst the hubub and hysteria, hearing God's "still small voice."
Trying to take 10 min to STOP, sit and not have thoughts and try to LISTEN, has been the hardest battle of my 59 years of life professing Christ as my Lord and Savior. I start with the prayer, and try to listen... so far, I'm down from a dozen intruding thoughts to just a few at the end of my 10 alloted minutes of total silence.
And some tiny positive things are happening. I offer this as encouragement, Aaron, to do as Benson says... "LISTEN!"
Hardest work I've ever done. Prayers with you to hear and heed, not lead on your own. God bless you. Lord loves a willing heart!

God Bless you and may he give you the desires of your heart!

Doc I've learned to write down those intruding thoughts then it seems that my mind and emotions settled down having gotten them out and acknowledged, THEN my mind is quiet enough to hear. My legalistic concience trys to put a guilt trip on me for not being a big tough Christian and taking control of my mind. What a raft of c$#p. Legalism keeps you from hearing because guilt keeps your heart from believing that God would talk to you. IMHO

Prayers up for you Bro.
