Title: slippery ground
Post by: **DONOTDELETE** on December 18, 2007, 08:33:00 AM
Since the past winter storms have draped a lot of ground with a  icee coat. What do You use to get around?
Do you have spikes for your boots?
Do you use shoe goop & gritty sand?
Do you use snowshoes?

These are called "get a grip" pull overs. My mom got both me and the wife a set a while back. We had an ice storm and while walking the dog, he took off and being on the ice, both feet went skyward and the first thing to hit the ice was the back of my head! Cracked my noggin right good, I tell ya. They work like a charm! Easy on/off. Those little studs grip the ice like no tomorrow. never slipped on the ice when I wear these grippers!

JL, I found them... They look like what I need. I'm on blood thinners and I can't take the chance on hitting my head....

I have tried the ones with the small spring bottom, worked good as long as the snow/ice didn't build up...

If you use snowshoes make sure they are the modern type with crampon's on them, or you will surly fall.

Check out yack tracks. they make alot of different styles, and pretty fair prices. None of the ones below sell for more then $20
