Title: Trailing a Bear book?
Post by: Jon Stewart on February 04, 2016, 12:27:00 PM
Is there a reason why the Trailing a Bear paper back is going for $75.00 used?

I see them listed from $200-$400, so that $75 version must be a beater.

I think it was a limited printing by the Munger family with no plans to print again soon I have been told.  I remember I got my copy when they first came out for under $25.

Swinehart and Massey books' prices have also skyrocketed with their limited printing.  Others have too.

I suppose rare and popular books are like rare and popular bows, huh?

Supply and demand , thats what drives anything up .
Sad that things go up after a person is gone.
My recommendation is honor the person printing the book before they pass .
Good example is Fred Anderson with his two books " The Traditional Way" and "Toxicated".
Both great books and he is still with us.
Just think how hard they will be to find 20 years from now.

Got lucky at the Kazoo show this past weekend I guess. Bought three Bear books and one of them was Trailing a Bear.  $5.00 each in great almost new condition.

It's a great read. I wouldn't sell my copy for $75
