This last weekend a Bear gold latch left hand t/d that was Glenn St. Charles bow.
Signed by Fred and Henrietta Bear, sold at the Pope and Young auction for 14,500.
-
Nice! Did they auction Fred's hat for a day?
-
For sure a Historical bow!
-
Yes but did not see what the hat brought.
They also had Fred's solid silver watchband with turquoise and think maybe other stones that Mike Steger donated it went for 1500.
Had a chance to see Jim Dougherty and Fred Asbell and had Fred sign some risers, was a great time.

I own glens RIGHT hand one its #15 i believe .signed by him on the handle, shipping box and case, the booklet has his name as the owner
-
Most thought that had the bow been a right hand one it would of brought more .
You are a lucky man.
-
My understanding was that it was a mistake on somebodys part and that he kept it anyway . I didnt realize there was another.I believe the the bow was in his possition when it was origionaly purchased. I got it from Jim R at J&M traditions who i believe is a sponser on here several years ago. I am curious as to the serial # of the other one. Very interesting thank you for starting this post
-
Pretty sure it was also 15 but left handed .Is your bow signed by both Fred and Henrietta ?
I did not look at all the papers as I knew it would bring way more than I could spend but it was a thrill to see and hold.
-
two #15's would be COOL
-
IM almost sure its #15 LOL .Its at the late Al Readers home right now. bows signed by fred as in all the signature bows. Glenn had signed the bow and case in several places. I was at the New Jersey shoot this weekend . told dave about the auction WOW 2 sig with the same number
-
Sorry guys its #14.. looked up a previous post on another site... guess the one i got was a woooops.. lol bet whoever did that was a little red faced, so # 14 and #15 were Glenns that is amazing
-
Chris, That sure is a special handle you have. I am glad I got to see it in person!
-
There is also another Signature Bow of which Glenn was recorded as the original owner.
Al Reader was recorded as the owner of three different numbered Signature Bows, the first two being returned and replaced until he got one that he liked well enough to keep.
-
I had Al Readers, recently sold it.I still have Judd Cooneys.
-
Dan you do not show up often on here but when you do you often create some buzz...good to hear about Glenn's bow raising funds for the Club he started...a bow associated with both Fred and Glenn really ought to be a lefty...speaking of lefties Feliciano, aka Cacciatore is coming to hunt moose with me this fall

I am sure Dave you'll appreciate the Type 1 A riser that I intend to use.
-
I have no doubt that I will...any of those risers have some real history...I hope we can add to it's history with a nice bull

Dave, Im sure that will be a great time moose hunting with Felix.
The history and great archers and bowhunters at Pope and Young was awesome.
Holding that bow riser was moving to say the least.

Thanks all.
