I wanted to share this very nice knife that I just received. It's a Fred Bear Olsen knife given to the sellers grandfather from Fred. The knife measures approximately 7 3/4" long and blade is 3 5/16" It's nice to know that Fred had his hands on this knife as he gave it to a gentleman as a gift. Written on the blade is Olsen and something I can't make out next to it, and then Solingen Germany. Waiting on the letter explaining the details of Fred's gift.

These were offered in several sizes in the '68 and '69 catalogs. Good quality knives.

They seem to be Gary. Solingen is a nice blade.

It is cool Terry, I think it will make a great knife to take with me to OH this year. I will not be putting any notches in mine however. I have a back up knife that I also carry which gets the notches; I make sure to use it on at least some part of the process with every deer. ;o)

I have one that was my father's, it has a different blade shape.
