Title: bow
Post by: whitedogs on May 08, 2013, 02:27:00 PM
have a root bow. Fieldmaster mint glass 66inches right hand. Have no clue as to how much this bow is worth or how old. I have had for twenty years and still shoot it. would like to know if there is a market for this bow.

Somebody out there wants it. To find out you have to advertise that you have one to sell. E.b.a.y will tell you.

I have picked up a couple older Root recurve and longbow in that past few years for about $100.  Your bow (and mine too) were probably made in the late 50's or early 60's.

Ernie Root was a fine bowyer and eventually sold out to Shakespeare.  Lately, there has been quite a bit of info coming out about Mr. Root and his bows, so do a little search and you will find lots.

Although Roots are fine bows a Fieldmaster is not one of the higher dollar bows out there. I'd say $75-$100 for excellent condition. You do see them on the auction site too.

Now if it were a '66 Gamemaster with the butcher block sight window we'd be talking considerably more money. Quite a desirable bow.
